How many do both parks in 1 day? Waste of money?

I will be traveling with my self, DH, DD 15, DD 5, my sister, parents and 2 cousins.
One of my cousins LOVES Harry Potter so I am thinking of doing both parks in 1 day.
We will be attending Nov 7-14th.

How many people do both parks in one day? Unfortunately we don't have an option to do one park per day as we only have 1 extra day for a park.

Most of us have already been to Universal but none of us have been to IOA.
So if you do not recommend both parks in one day which park would recommend?

I'll mention this, there is a holiday that week on the 11th, so you may experience an in crease in the number of guests. I would take a serious look at what attractions are available at both parks and which you think you will be able to experience, especially with a 5 year old. Then go with that one. We have gone different times in November and accomplished Islands of Adventure in a single half day (skipping the water rides and all shows except for Poseidon).

We are thinking about trying both parks in a day next month, but will focus more on the Main studios since we have not done that park in years.

Avoid the weekends and holiday for lesser crowds in the parks

We spent last week there and went into both parks every day.

As offsite guests without Express Pass did both Parks this past Nov. (TP Cwd Cal = USO - 3 / IOA - 2) and wrapped up well before the parks closed. However this was 2 adults with similar attraction interest and not a diverse group of 9. IOA would be all new for your group which is a plus, but if you go to either park on a 1 Day 1 park ticket you will NOT get to ride Hogwarts™ Express. OBTY the “LOVES Harry Potter” people can spends hours in either HP area.
