How many Disney Dollars do you usually earn in a year?

Just wondering, because I went to Disney with 550.00, but I think that was 18 months worth. So, it was probably 350.00/year. BUT, I put EVERYTHING on that card, and I never upgraded to a premium card.

Maybe $75? We have other CCs that we use first because they give us more points. The Disney Visa is attached to our cellphone accounts and Amazon, so that's where most points are earned.

For my DW and I upgrading to the premier has worked for us. We have gotten over $250 since May. (a lot with gas and the 3% bonus categories)

I cashed out for $600 for our November 2011 trip, left about $60 remaining. Upgraded to the premiere in February (I think), and now have over $700 for December trip...the promotion for the new card really worked for me as we had our DCL final payment on there earning 5%, and pre-paid shipboard account during the promo.

As most do, we charge everything we can (won't use for household bills, as all would charge a convenience fee that negates earnings) and pay full balance monthly.

Put the downpayment on my new car on my Disney Visa. The dealer could only do $2000/day but got it done to get the rewards.had to do more than one transaction. Went home and paid the amount off using my banks on line bill pay. Loved making those extra $$.

We're not using ours at the moment, just got back and not sure we'll have a trip before the points start to expire (we're the once-every-five-years-or-so) types. But we had about $450 over the course of the year we had/used it. It was a bit of a pain because the limit was only about $5k, and my household runs a (chargeable, not including mortgage and car) budget greater than that monthly (two in daycare, two in college (DH + DSD) plus prepaying the trip, groceries, gas...) so I had to pay more than once a month if I wanted the maximum benefit.

Probably could have done more, but between the free $200 for signing up, plus everything we earned, plus the TRex giftcard from mypoints, etc, it didn't seem as if we'd need much more, so I got lazy after a while ;)

Just received our Disney Premier VISA. Really looking forward to using it as much as possible. Thanks for all of the ideas!

We upgraded to the premier card, and put EVERYTHING we can on it. We have around $450 I think on it, and that's since our trip in March. (Which shows you how much we spend! eek! ) We've had some medical expenses, which I guess the only positive (so far) is that it's helping us boost our rewards. (We pay our CC in full every month, though - it wouldn't be worth it otherwise.)

I'm hoping to have at least half our our trip paid for through DRDs by the time we go next summer...

Yep...I've got $590 since March, it's insane how much we spend, but we upgraded to the Premier card in Feb and we put EVERYTHING on the card (electric bill and such). It gets paid off every month or there is no way I would use it that much.

We had about $400 or so when we went to Disneyland in March and it paid for our tickets plus!

20.00 or so LOL They lowered our limit a few years back though so we don't use it nearly as much as we used to.

I got my car back last December and love it! This September I have about $80 to use (I also cashed in last September 2011 for our trip and had about $50), just got my card in the mail. One suggestion to anyone using the card. When cashing in my card I always put the minimum amount on it (I think it's 10$ or so) and then once I receive the card I then transfer the rest of the money over. That way if it happens to get lost in the mail, I'm not freaking out over hundreds of dollars MIA.

Good idea, wish I'd thought to do this. I have about 120 right now, which is more average for me. However, many of our bills have to be paid with a check or via a bank transfer, so I can't put most of our regular expenses on the card. The highest I ever had was 380, but most of those were earned during a five times bonus rewards period.

We put everything on ours that we possible can. Our homeowners insurance, our car insurance, etc. It does add up. I cashed it out last Thanksgiving and right now I have $610 for our upcoming cruise.

I gave up on Disney Visa a few years ago for rewards. With only $1 per $100, not that good of a deal.
I use my Costco AMEX and get double that on travel and groceries and dining and triple on gas.
For the life of me I never understood why Disney didn't offer at least double rewards for Disney visa at Disney.
No brainer, but I guess the extra $$ is something they have no interest in parting with.

With AMEX we got about $450 last year. When we just used Disney Visa, I would say it ran about $200 a year.

A tad OT, but when you put insurance on your CC, are they charging a fee to do that? Sadly mine does. So I don't use it for ins.

Usually about $1000 per year. Made the switch to the new card and had $250 in the first month!

No, we do not get charged for putting our insurance on our credit card -- if we did, I would not be doing it. LOL

I figured as much, this being the Budget Board and all, but I had to ask.

I keep reading about people being able to do this, wishing my ins co would offer this! Thanks :)

Yep, I'm with you. I use it more for the discounts I can get and the meet n' greets but I find myself not using it that much. I just got it a few months ago and think I have maybe $40?

I just transferred my rewards this morning and had $680 for the year--that's with the upgrade to the premiere card. when we had the regular card it was about $500 a year. my intention was to use the airline program and then charge everything when we are down there next month to get the 2X points for disney purchases, but i didn't get off my butt and do it within the 60 day window from when we bought our tickets. i have to remember to do it in time next year.
