How many Disney cruises is too many?

Blasphemy I say, blasphemy

Lol, that's what I figured. So far everyone's responses have confirmed we're not crazy...yet lol For us it's just the best vacation we can spend our money on. The 3 day cruises on the Dream work well for us too because my wife doesn't get as much vacation time as I do so they're a fantastic weekend getaway. Depending on when you go the cost can be better than others. So far we're in love with DCL. I'm just trying not to let myself go crazy cruising toooo much lol

We've done 30 cruises, but only 2 on Disney (with number 3 in a few months). We well probably do a couple more, but I don't know that I see us continuing to do them with any frequency after the kids get older.

We did a cruise on the Wonder last January, jumped on board the Fantasy last month and will be sailing on The Dream in August and the Magic next January. Funny thing about this is I realized after I booked the cruise on the Magic that we will have sailed on all 4 ships. Not done on purpose, just wanted to try different Itinerary's. And I'm sure we will not be done sailing on Disney.
Happy Sailing!!!!!

I only have three cruises under my belt with a fourth booked for January. I'm not necessarily opposed to other lines but I feel Disney adds something extra special so I will continue to cruise with them, budget allowing. I say if you can afford it and enjoy DCL, then keep on cruising!

There is never to many DCL cruises or visits to DL or WDW......The wisdom and talent of Uncle Walt has given us so much joy and wonder over the years, the Magic and the pixie dust has shown us we all have some kid within us.

We've done 10 Disney cruises throughout the years, as well as 10 on other cruise lines such as Carnival, RCL, and Celebrity. We choose to sail more unique itineraries, but we also sail short weekend cruises since we live in Florida. We jump back and forth between cruise lines, Disney is definitely our favorite but isn't great for all occasions. Our next cruise is the EBTA on the Disney Magic in May. There is no other cruise line I'd spend 2 weeks on, such a long journey and one we love using Disney.

I am going on number 25 in a few weeks. We started taking my daughter when she had just turned 1. She can honestly say she has grown up on DISNEY cruising. We tried a RC cruise last year and it was ok. All we did was compare to DISNEY. My daughter did like a few of the activities but nothing else could compare. She is 13 now and we still find new things to do. We have been cruising the last few times with other families so that makes it more fun.

I have completed 8 Disney Cruises in the past six years and I can admit they are some things (gatherings, shows, or events) that I become accustomed to that if I miss it's no big deal. Nevertheless to keep things interesting for me I haven't selected the same cruise twice (yet) and always pick a cruise that I haven't done or one of the specialty cruises.

We just completed #18. We did the SWAS and the EBPC as our last two trips. This year
we have the New York to San Juan booked. We like to mix them up, but not
tired of Disney yet. DH requires an accessible cabin, so since there are so few, we book
when we find one .

We also love DCL and the cruises are our favorite vacation....period. We have done 7 and are going on #8 this summer. As long as they don't price us out, we will continue to cruise with Disney. The ship is the one place I feel we truly relax and have some awesome family time.

We've done three and are booked for our fourth this summer and I have to admit we're beginning to reach peak Disney here. Even after three we were beginning to see a lot of repetition. The menus, shows and other things are all fine, but I can't imagine seeing the Golden Mickeys or eating the Pirate menu ten or twenty times! We've tried a couple of other cruise lines and while we liked Disney a bit more for most things we enjoyed many of the differences as well.

I think a lot of it comes to your "vacation personality". I have a friend who goes to the exact same resort every year and sees no reason to even look anywhere else since she's happy with it. Others have a cabin or vacation home and spend every spare moment there. If you've found your happy spot and your goal is relaxation, why change? My family on the other hand loves variety. We may do a cruise on spring break, go for a long weekend to wine country, then backpack around Europe in the summer. I usually visit one place a maximum of two times so the fact that we're heading out on our fourth Disney cruise says a lot about it. It's been wonderful for a family with preschoolers, but now that the kids are both in school we'll probably start branching out.

Those of you who go multiple times per year, do you live in FL (or driving distance)?

We're finding it really hard to imagine being able to afford the $1500 in plane tickets to fly our whole family to the port more than once a year on top of the cruise cost, and with only 2-3 vacation weeks per year, can't spend the 18 hours driving each direction.

I've cruised a total of 27 times, 10 of those on Disney. We have 4 future cruises booked - 3 on other lines and 1 on Disney. Since my kids are older now, itinerary is more important to us and we are finding a better variety on other lines. We are also concierge cruisers and I'm finding for us at least that the suite perks and over all value of concierge cruising is better on some of the other mass market lines.

There are people on this forum that get upset that Disney keeps raising prices but as you can see from this forum alone that the pricing has not slowed down DCL sales at all. If nothing else, I have seen the ship sales pick up the last 12 months.

Prices will keep rising as the demand remains in place.

We do live in Florida so that helps out alot. We can get to Port Canaveral in 2.5 hours and Miami in about 3.

cruised on all 4 ships, plus the re-imagined Magic :)

16 cruises, 120+ nights

Most of the cruises have been "adults" only (our youngest 18+). Most of the cruises were with one or both of the "kids" but DW and I have sailed on DCL several times with just us.

Not Tired of DCL. Last cruise (7 night Fantasy) we got off the ship in Tortola, and didn't get off until the end of the cruise (St. Thomas weather was beautiful, and CC was Horrible). It was a great cruise. Enjoyed the on-board activities, and food and relaxation.

Tired of the "same old ports" If DCL keeps coming out with new ports / itineraries, then we will most definitely keep cruising with them. Waiting for 2017 Alaska (would be our 2nd Alaska cruise).

I think it just depends on what you enjoy - as long as you are happy with what you are doing, then keep it up. :)

We are about to embark on our 5th Disney cruise ... the 4th with kids, but it's taken us 16 years to get to this point. I really think this will probably be our last cruise with DCL. We have done short cruises on the Magic, Wonder (x2) and Dream ... this upcoming 7 night Fantasy will be our longest and I'm kind of looking at it as our grand finale with DCL. I suppose there is a very long shot we could sail them to Alaska in the next few years. I am just not a huge cruise fan ... don't get me wrong, we have had lots of fun (otherwise we wouldn't be going on this cruise), but I think we have cruised with DCL more because we like the "D" than the "C" in DCL. I think the rest of our Disney fixes will be in the parks.

My parents love cruising and went on a cruise every single year of their retirement until my Dad was too ill to travel.

Amen and amen (especially if you stick with airplane mode on the cell phone and focus on each other!) (Yes, I know some people have to have their phone on for work or family. For me personally I just give them the number to our stateroom and call it done.)
