How many days?

We are thinking about going to Disneyland Paris for the first time. How many days would you recommend spending there? Thanks!

For a first trip I would have at least 3 nights, 4 days. Sometimes 4 nights is a better deal. Generally I would recommend 2 days and evenings in the Disneyland Park and one day in the Studios. If you can afford it I would try and stay on site. It's great being able to walk to the parks and being in the Disney bubble for a few days. Enjoy your planning

What date are you looking at going? If it's really busy then I would definitely recommend 4 nights and as touched on above, sometimes it works out better value with 4 nights as you get offers like stay 2 nights, get 2 free etc. If it's a quieter period then you may get away with 3 nights. You also don't mention family demographics - again, if you have small children, sometimes things can take a bit longer to get around as you have to take things at a slower pace etc.

I would also recommend staying onsite for a first visit (and subsequent if you can!). It is more expensive but it means you can walk to the parks and not have to worry about transport/shuttles etc which can be very busy at park closing or when it's really busy at the resort. The Disneyland Hotel is lovely and right on the doorstep of the park so the epitome of easiness - but comes with a hefty price tag! However, most Disney hotels are within a walk - the ones around the Lake at the end of Disney Village are also convenient. We've nearly always stayed at the Disneyland Hotel but did do a budget trip a few years ago (we were saving for WDW), where we stayed at the Sequoia Lodge Hotel and we loved it - would definitely consider staying there again. The walk around the lake was lovely each day and took 10 mins or so to reach the main Park depending on bag checks.

We've done a mixture of stays over the years - my favourite is probably 4 nights duration but we've done 2 and 3 before as well!

Personally, the duration all depends on who is planning to go and when. Answer those two questions and then the advice which I have to say is so generously provided would be tailored accordingly.

For instance, I wouldn't necessarily want to take young children at the height of August but if only two Adults you might want to go then even with the crowds!

Its just my husband and I. I think we would probably go in July or August, is one if these more crowded then the other?

We are going in July which yes can be busy but August is generally the busier of the months.

Three nights and 4 days seems like a good length we are doing Monday to Friday as we got a good deal but the again we are going with our 7 year old and my mother too

Also, for a first timer, maybe this is not the best period to visit DLP. There are a lot of refurbishments going on. If you think you're not coming back for many years, then I'd visit in 2017.

I think it depends how many days you have on your trip as well as what point it is in your trip. I think 3 days is adequate but if you are going to have jet leg you might want to do 4. I agree that staying on site is wonderful. You can walk to all the resorts/parks. I will say I have been there for two trips, both in the fall and in both trip there was a good bit of rain so my insight might be a bit skewed. Have a great time!

thats a very good point, I wouldn't go in 2016 for your first ever visit to DLP, you won't see it at its best until the 25th anniversary celebrations start in spring 2017.

This is a random question, but we don't speak any French, we've never had any problems in tourist areas of Europe before getting by with just English but I'm thinking if the shows or rides are in French maybe that might limit how much repeatability they have for us. Do any of you have thoughts on that. Thanks!

All shows are at least 50/50 French/English. Some performances have dedicated English schedules (Stitch Live on Stage and Disney Junior)!
The only attraction that, unfortunately, is only French, is Phantom Manor. Hopefully, understanding the background is not necessary to enjoy the ride! (And Internet provides all the info if you require.)

(Disclaimer: I am French and could be biased. I do enjoy Disney stuff in English, though, and I admire how they adapted DLP to fit more than one language.)

I can't even count myself as conversational in French, but I like the French/English split of language at the shows, and Phantom Manor is awesome in French (we visited the Haunted Mansion at WDW in August, they are very very different!).

I went for four nights first time and my upcoming second visit is 6 nights yeah
