not so we feel like we are rushed through the park. We are thinking of going next July 2010 midweek.

2 days and you can see everything if the crowds aren't too bad. 3 days are great. We stayed there for 5 days but only spent 2 in the park. We wished we had gotten a 3rd day, but we were able still able to do everything. We went the week after Thanksgivving 2007 with low crowds. DL is not anywhere near the size of WDW and the two parks are right next to each other. So it takes no time to park hop.

Of course if you are like me, I could stay a whole week there and never get bored.

so you saw the 2 parks in 2 days??

If you wanted to see most everything I would say 4-5 days, especially in the summer. In the off season we like to go for 3 days. :)

I wont lie. July is going to be crazy busy... So I am going to suggest to you 4-5 days minimum. During off season you can get away with going 4 days without being totally rushed and feel like you will get to see mostly everything. But during peak season like July no less then 4 days.

I agree, 4 days to not feel rushed. We have always gone for 3 days during the summer but we don't get to everything. This time we decided to go for a week so we'll see how that goes. :)

Four or five days in July, to see most/all of the parks at a pace that doesn't kill you!

July is very busy and hot at DL, but unlike WDW, not a sticky, humid experience.

Even after 12+ trips to DL and 12+ trips to WDW, I don't think I could see it all in two days unless the parks were just completely dead. But then I like to enjoy the details!

I do not normally spend time in DCA. Nothing against it. I believe it may have to do with the fact, that when I was a child, only Dl. existed. And with that said, that is where my most favorite classic rides are. DCA, is so much newer, in comparison. I like TOT, however, it does not completely agree with my system. ;) :) Seriously.....
I have spent anywhere from a complete week to just one day at D.l. and 2 or three days as well. Since I prefer to spend my time normally exclusively at D.l. I can see and do everything that makes me happy, within one or two days. Depends on the heat, and are my shoes rubbing my heels raw, like last year? Then there is the humidity, and crowd level factor to figure in as well. Not to mention, will one's trip be during a time, when X conference will be held at D.L.R. or near by?
Also, I either go with a friend or by myself, no children. So I realize that can make a vast difference in how one will be doing their planning.

I'd also say 4 days during that time. If I were going then, I'd do 5 to really enjoy it -- but then again, I don't get there very often and love to soak it all in (and do my favorite things multiple times).

We did both parks completely, every ride that was open last July in two days. No waiting except for Nemo. Did Space mountain like 5 times! We were really lucky!

We have been twice a year since our girls turned 2. They are going on seven in Sept. The shortest trip was 3 days, the longest was 7 days. We still have a long list of things we have not seen or done there, and we have even been to Club 33 once already. In the summer I would say a minimum of five days, that way you can work around the crowds. We go early, then go back to the hotel around 1:30 pm until around 4 or 5:00 for swimming and a cat nap. Then we stay until we cant walk anymore or they tell us to leave! Nothing is better than socal evenings in Disneyland.

Another vote here for four days. If you like to sleep in and take it really slowly, then five days may be better. The most we have ever done was a four day trip.

Summer has some special challenges and this thread gives some advice on how to work around that:

Summer..we're staying at GCH...being so close in summer able to take breaks,
I hope that 3 1/2 days is enough!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Like I said, the crowds were low, so we walked on to everything. We got to ride Splash Mountain 3 times without even having to get off. I wish we would have spent at least 1 more day in the parks, but we did not. Granted there are things that we chose not to do due to lack of interest on our part.

The parks are smaller than the WDW parks and you really cut out the travel time since everything is very close.

3 1/2 is definitely doable.....but:

- Take advantage of MM each day it's offered (if possible). Check out DLR 29's MM thread & my MM Critique thread in the HydroGuy link below.
- Have a plan, collect FPs early & take a mid day break each day. Check out all of HG's tip threads in the link below which will help.
- Park Hop each day....staying at the GCH will make it SO easy to do. Read my Park Hop thread in the HG link below.

Have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

I've been going to Disneyland since 1956... alot of times... it really depends on how you would like to enjoy Disneyland... some people think that just riding as many rides is all there is and are totally satisfied... some people enjoy the shows and a few rides... and some people (like me) enjoy the rides, the shows, the parades, the fireworks, the little details in the stores, rides and just everywhere in Disneyland. I love to look at the beautiful flowers and the colors that Disneyland has to offer... I love to feed the ducks and sometimes just sit and people watch and listen to the back ground music. I love to shop and visit with the CM's... I like to sometimes go back to the hotel to take a little snooze or to cool off in the pool... so depending on what a person likes to do and what times of the year they go dictates how many days they want to spend. I can spend 5 days and still not get to do everything... I could probably stay alot longer and still there will be something that I didn't do... on every trip that I take, I always find something new. I like to explore Disneyland... so, it just depends on what you want to accomplish... if you want and easy going time, stay at least 3 to 4 days is my suggestion during non-peak times, but for peak times, I would say no less then 5 days... maybe take a break between days though... like after a couple of days at Disneyland, spend a day somewhere else and then go back again to Disneyland... stroll, don't run to the nearest ride, look at all the details and enjoy it. In the afternoons when it gets hot, people sometimes get cranky... take time to sit and enjoy an ice cream or take in an "indoor" show if you don't want to go back to the hotel... but whatever you decide, relax, enjoy and realize you may not get everything done that you want to do and might have to take another trip to Disneyland :yay:
