How many days should we plan at each park?

With all the greenery it does make AK feel hotter than the other parks.

Everyone here says this! But we didn't find that at all. If anything we found AK better for finding shade, loved the fans on Maharajah etc... But then again, we also didn't mind the summer heat of Disney as much as we were planning to. Everyone hyped us up that it was going to be the worst thing possible, lol. But it's actually more humid in the summer where we live in Canada, than it is in Disney. This summer my husband joked that we should head to Florida to get a break from the humidity, lol.

If you are doing a 7 day pass, I'd do 2 days at MK, 2 days at AK (shows are great), 1 day at Epcot and 1 day at HS and leave the last day flexible for the park you missed things at or liked the best.

Oooh, I like this idea. With the DAS it certainly makes it easier to do things last minute.

If you do that at least book FPs somewhere you'd guess you would do day 7. With your son liking Ak 2 days makes sense. Also hard to leave at 1-2 and get much done later if it closes at 7 or 8. 3 days of around 8 hours each at MK won't seem like too much at all. it is really 2 full days.

You don't get any/very little wind with all the trees, bushes, etc.

I know you said 7 days but there is something to be said for more park days with less time in the park each day. If you add two more days, you can go to the park for just three FP and an evening show which could allow you to do some shorter, more relaxing days on other park days. The price difference is pretty small and would be worth considering.

In our case, we are typically park commando people. We usually two 3 twelve hour days (36 hours) with two off days. This trip we're planning on 6 park days but only @6 hours a day. Same park time for about the same price and it seems like it will be relaxing.

Our trips have evolved into this. First day we get to MK around 4PM, catch something to eat and ride 7DMT and the other outside rides, Splash, BTRR because they are cool to ride at night. We settle in and watch Wishes and Celebrate the Magic. The rest of the trip we spend 2 full days at MK and one full day each at the other three parks. We used to leave AK around 4 or 5 and head to Downtown Disney and grab a bite at WPE or The Earl and do some light shopping. We will have to adapt to a new plan now that CTM is gone and hopefully RoL is up and running.

Very true. Though at least in the summer AK is now open till 10 or 11. So that helps.

This makes sense to me, and I agree with it. Just not sure I would convince DH. He really likes to have at least a couple days where he does not have to go in the park at all. Where he can just stay home, relax, swim in the pool etc... and that's important to me. If we could stay longer then maybe we could do that but I doubt we'll be able to afford to stay longer.

We go in the am until after lunch. Then we go back to resort and swim and relax. Finally, the kids and I go back to parks because DH is done. We are all happy then. MK 2, EP 1, HS 1, and AK 1. Use the other two days to decide what you like best. Every 2-3 days resort day to relax DH.

Being Canadian there is that 25% off tickets so you can stay longer now :)

My husband is the same way but he agreed to try it my way this time. Now I just have to make sure to get out of the parks when I said we would! I think the kids will be happier this way too. They were a little bored with our pool days last year.
