How many days should I plan for Williamsburg, VA?

It will be DH, me & the boys (ages 9 & 10). We will be going next month - my boys have 1.5 days of school that week. I am interested in Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown. Any other "don't miss" stops? How many full days?

We visited Williamsburg in June. We spent one full day in Colonial Williamsburg and found that that was enough. It was me, DH and DDs, 10 and 12. I know others who spend much more time there and their families really love it. Maybe because it was so hot the day we visited but the "villagers" were just not very interactive.
Yorktown, on the other hand, was my family's favorite. We really enjoyed it. It takes more than 1/2 a day but not a full day. The museum had interesting displays and artifacts and replicas. The colonial encampment was fantastic and the people who work there were so engaging.
I can't offer any tips on Jamestown since we never made it there.

One day for Colonial Williamsburg/Yorktown, unless you a history lover. In that case, you will need 2-3. 1-2 days for Busch Gardens, the best non-Disney park on earth. If you were going during the summer you may have wanted to go to Va Beach, but it's pretty dead during the fall.

We were just there at the end of July. We spent 5 days there. One full day at Colonial Williamsburg, and that was plenty for us. As Allie322 said, the villagers were not that interactive, and many of the buildings were closed up. My kids are 15, 11 and 8 and didn't care for it much at all. Part of the problem was that it was very hot and humid though.

We spent the other 4 days at Busch Gardens and Water Country, and EVERYONE loved it. We never made it to Jamestown and Yorktown because we had just come from 10 days in Washington DC and Gettysburg and my kids had had it with educational stuff. I would like to go back someday and see them though.

If you do go to Colonial Williamsburg have lunch at The Cheese Shop. They make excellent sandwiches there.
