How many days out to link to MDE?

Yeah I know that in my reply to foxxxy I wrote that they do know a lot about what they sell but he was supposed to be their expert because he had been twice. Virgin aren't providing much more help at the moment either :/

I get where you're coming from. Personally my policy now is to cut the middle man and deal direct for as much as possible. I've never actually used Thomson for anything because on the occasions where I had gone in for information (none of these trips were for Disney) there were red flags already before I even got to a booking stage so we gave them a miss

First time I went with DH (then DBF) we paid £340 each for direct flights, car hire and hotel inc breakfast. Only a week but I'd be happy to find flights for that now lol. (Found that online by my self)

The year after I went back to our local shop just to discus with some one my options. After I left I booked our own flights and booked hotel direct with disney.

They are or were now the only company to fly direct from our local airport (Bristol) now we have to fly to Dublin then fly on to Orlando. :/ which is fine with DH and I but I wouldn't do it with DD not at 2 years old. X

Wonder why only those hotels?? Bit bad they only releasing the ref num you need on the day you supposed to make dining ADRs. Concierge at GF said it was 300 days prior to check-in date. Hope you get it sorted! :)

I'm not trying to be funny. I totally get why you are frustrated. I would be fuming by this stage :rotfl: ..... but you have to phone. Stop emailing them, pick up the phone, speak to someone, if they can't do it, hang up and redial. I know it's really unfair that you have tried so many times to no avail, but I can tell you that someone WILL be able to do it for you. The emails are directed to WDTC in the UK office; telephone calls are routed to the WTDC UK call center in the US. Completely different departments you are dealing with. But without complicating things with details any further, all I can say is PHONE THEM

The only thing I can think of with those two resorts is that they are DVC. But it still doesn't make sense because have others staying there not been able to get their res number earlier?

My guess is that they are DVC resorts not Disney Owned hotels. DVC resorts are effectively owned by the members whose home resort it is.

The cash availability is from the percentage of the resort owned by Disney still plus from members who have traded out to a Disney Collection holiday.

I have got my reference number for next July at OKW which I booked in August so it's not all bookings being held until 180 days.

I don't know what the real matter is but I am expect to read about some issues as this is not normal based on past years.

How about a new sticky note all about MDE and linking ?
There are soooo many threads now about problems... How about a list of numbers to call and known problems with particular travel agent packages (i.e. Virgin) and a possible work around ?

I know thats a big ask ! but it may make life a little easier for us frustrated DIS'ers

I will try calling again. I won't get a chance before next weekend (I have my mum visiting, and don't want to waste precious time with her), but I will try again!
 
Certainly agree with phoning again. When I was booking the Dessert Party and knew from Dis that the month was open I had to call three times before I got a CM who checked and found out I was right and took my booking.

Tony, I would put a sticky together however the system is in testing at the moment and until it settles a bit more I don't think it's going to be of any value. Things are being worked on and what's correct today could be out of date tomorrow.

There have been requests on the Theme Parks board for a sub forum for FP+ and it has been refused for the same reason, among others. We're all just going to have to suck it up until things become 'official' :surfweb:

Lets hope when its out of testing everything works like clockwork. Somehow I think not lol !! i hope Disney is quadrupling the size of its IT department !

:rotfl2: It's quality that's needed, not quantity, I think. In all the years I've been using their website there have always been problems so while hopeful ....... :rolleyes1 ;)
