How many days if not HP fan?

We've never visited US or IOA before, but my teens are wanting to visit when we go to Disney this summer. We are not HP fans, but the DSs 15 & 13 would like to experience some more thrilling attractions. Do we need 2 days to experience this if we don't spend much time on HP? What are some of the big thrill rides? We are renting a car, so I was thinking of staying a night onsite at the beginning of our trip to take advantage of early entry and express pass. Any thoughts?

You should allow a full day for each park whether you're a HP fan or not. Universal is a lot calmer than Disney so you should be able to relax and enjoy yourselves. If you stay onsite you will have early entry into WWoHP and unlimited Express access which will come in handy in the summer. Also...the pool will be close should you decide to take a midday break. I think it's a good idea to spend one night and get two days of unlimited Express...nothing can beat it!

Agree with the above. Also, don't let the fact that you're not a Potter fan keep you away from the Potter area. I've never read a single book, haven't seen the movies and still have no interest in either.

But I love the Potter area at Universal -- if you like great theming and some excellent rides, you should check it out.

People don't seem to realize that WWoHP is just one small area of the two parks. Just like Frontierland. You still need 1 full day in each park to see everything. Even if you know nothing about HP, you do know about wizards and dragons and stuff and basically that is all HP is. Just a good guy versus bad guy in theme with wizards and their world.

Thanks for the feedback! I do think two days using the express pass would probably be the best use of our onsite stay, and I know my older boys would not be upset to spend two days there. I'm such a Disney fan that I hate to break away from the "world," but my boys won't be home many more years so I want to keep their preferences in mind. It also looks like there's plenty for my 6 year old son to enjoy as well.

i am not a Parry Hotter fan.

i do the FJ ride cause it is unique...

and i eat chocolate frogs.

i need more than 2 days to do the parks.
once you take in the shows or do shopping, you lose ride time.
