How Many Days at WDW is Your Maximum?

In one trip, how many days max could you spend at WDW before it was too long?

My friends have a lot of vacation time available and are planning an "epic Disney World vacation" in the next 12 months. They are Disney fans but have only been to the Orlando resort once before.

I'll probably join in for 3 days, but they want to make it a much longer trip. I've never had more than a 4-day trip to Disney World (and always left wanting more), so I'm not sure how many days it would take for someone to feel like they've done everything that they care to do.

I know this board might be a little biased, but the expertise here is fairly good. What do you think is the maximum before you felt like you ran out of things to do?

We usually get a 6 day/ water park/park hopper ticket for a total of 12 days. We never run out of things to do!

I'm pretty sure I could easily spend a month at Disney without it being too much. But I could never afford it or get the time off from work so I guess I'll never know for sure.

I have spent 10 park days there and could definitely have stayed longer.

Our first trip was 7 days/8nights.

This year we're booked for Thursday - next Sunday which is 10 nights. The first and last day will be travel days and gives us 8 days in the park with one rest day. Due to school calendar we're thinking about increasing our trip by 3 days. Instead of traveling on Thursday traveling on Monday...this would be a two week trip. If we do th is we won't increase our park days, but will use the extra days at the beginning as water park and shopping days.

I'm slightly afraid that 2 weeks is too long!

We typically go for 8 to 10 days. I probably wouldn't want more than 12 days. I won't even consider a trip less than 8 days.

I voted 9-10 days but my only reasoning is because I can only eat Disney food for so long.... otherwise we would live in Disney for sure! I would just have to find a way to not be so tempted by all the yummy food!

We did 11 days, split stay, a few years back, 9 at BW followed by 2 at POFQ. We'd have been happy to go home after BW but we did enjoy the last 2 although I have a vague memory of waking up after the first night at POFQ and feeling like going to the parks was a bit of a job.

We live near Disneyland so we've ridden the majority of the rides many times. Our last trip was 12 days with 9-day tickets. 3 years later we're doing it again. So by the end of the last trip, I still totally felt like there was plenty we hadn't done. I was getting a little sick of crowded public bathrooms with water that trickles out of the faucet, not sleeping in my own bed and eating out, but I wasn't tired of Disney. We're planning lots of pool time too though since we have a 6 year old who thinks swimming is as good as any ride. I also asked him what he was looking forward to the most last night. He said the roller coaster that goes backwards (EE which he was too short to ride last time) and the kid's club (we're sending him to Lilo's Playhouse one night so we can go to dinner).

The number is well over 10, but I would need more money (and vacation days!) to swing that.

Assuming vacation time and budget weren't an issue...I voted 10+. That's a no-brainer for me.

I can easily fill 2 weeks and still feel like it's not enough. Given, let's say 13 full days (leaving out arrival/departure days), I can easily fill those days as follows:

2 days at MK
2 days at Epcot
1 day at Studios
1 day at AK
1 day at Blizzard Beach
1 day at Typhoon Lagoon (we usually go in late August and love the water parks)
1 day at Disney Springs
2 "resort days" to just chill/recharge in between (such as day 5 and then day 9 as an example)
2 days to either return to one of the WDW parks or maybe go off-site to Uni or Sea World

This is our first trip, so we wanted to make sure we had time. We are 9 days in park. Will be unlikely we get back again, at least as our family of 5.

I can't speak from experience.
We have 10 days/11 nights coming up.

Arrival day, relax, maybe hit Disney springs. Then 7 park days, 1 water park day, one day just at the resort with a birthday dinner) then breakfast and a bit of pool time on departure day.

Right now that feels about right. I reserve the right to change my mind and refuse to go home.

My longest trip was 8 days. It was about 3 days too many.

My first trip was 5 days and I thought it was too short - and this was back when there was only 3 parks. I'm with Alesia - my minimum is 8. (Although I have yet to go longer than that, but it's not for not wanting to.)

We went on a 10 day 9 night trip a few years ago (before kids) in October and we were really done with the trip by day 8. I think it was a combination of it being a little slower crowd wise, us not riding some of the younger kid rides and being able to stay out as late as we wanted. Our last park day we both didn't care which park we were going to go to as we'd already ridden everything that we wanted to several times.

Now that we have kids, I think that we could do a 10 day stay especially if we incorporated a water park or attractions outside the world for a day or two.

I would love to do a two week trip, it would be ideal for me. Sadly though since my husband is self employed he only gets vacation days if he doesn't work which is no big deal to schedule off but two weeks with no pay sucks. So we generally drive down on a Friday and Saturday, arrive early Sunday and leave to head home the following Saturday. We usually get five full days and two half days in the parks, it feels rushed though. We'd fly but alas we camp so renting a trailer would up the cost and we really enjoy our trailer. :(
