We are arriving on a Sunday and flying home on sat. Staying 6 nights. The first 4 nights we are staying at Beach Club. The last 2 nights at Bay Lake.

Should I get 6 day passes. and go sunday night for a few hours after arriving?
Should I save MK until we go to Bay Lake since it is walking distance?
Thanks

:welcome: to the DISboards, @1gianfer1!

How early will you be arriving? If early enough, it's easy to go to Epcot or DHS for a meal and then the evening show.

Check third-party ticket sellers to see what kind of multi-day ticket sales they are having:
Parksavers.com
Maple Leaf Tickets
Official Ticket Center
Undercover Tourist

Staying at Bay Lake/Contemporary does make for easy access to MK. As long as your family understands they're not going to see the Castle until then, you'll be okay. :)

I would get 6 day passes because I really think you need 6 days in the parks to do everything most people want to do. And MK was 2 days at least for me.

I would suggest getting the 6 day passes. Although it always sound like a good plan to use arrival day for something outside of the parks it's not easy to stay away from the call of the parks once you are actually in WDW.

I did like the option of just walking to MK when we stayed at the Contemporary, although the Beach Club bus will drop you off at the entrance so you could go either way.

You can always add a day once you are there.

I second this. Get what you want, and if you find you need more, just add it at the park.

Personally, I like to resort hop on arrival day and don't go into the parks. Plus, we always leave one day for a "free" day. We use this for the pool, Disney Springs, mini-golfing, etc. It's usually in the middle of our trip as a break.

So with your schedule, our family would have a 5 day ticket (we go in the park the day we leave, but we don't leave until late at night).

If you're going to be all about the parks and no hotel days, then I'd say a 6 day is good.

One thing I'll note is that @Robo and I have been waiting for someone to post the cost to add on 1 day to a pre-purchased ticket.

The new pricing structure has the online pre-purchase price and at the Parks, the same tickets are $20 more.

So, adding on a one-day ticket at "gate" pricing could be the difference between an online 5-day Ticket and a 6-day at the "gate" price - so well over $20 per person.

Best to buy the 6-day tickets at the online or 3rd-party ticket seller pricing.

Really? I will check in on this, because we have a 6-day ticket for an upcoming trip, but we're thinking about staying an extra day (we are driving down). We were going to wait until the end of our trip to decide whether we wanted the extra day (already have a hotel cause we have business in town for an hour the next day). My wife will be 5 months pregnant and possibly tired and not want the extra day. But if it's cheaper to add it now, we may do it. I will ask my DVP if she knows or can find out for me.

Thank you, Traver! It is the main mystery of the new ticket structure and surprisingly, no one has posted about it.

We usually arrive in the afternoon. After a dat of travelling we always love going into a park. Ever since DD was small I always loved carrying her under the railroad to see the look on her face when she got the first sight of Cinderella's Castle.

I don't carry her anymore, but I still like going to MK first. I say take the extra day and go to the park evening you get there. You won't regret it.

In your situation, I would get 6 day tickets. We don't usually get a ticket for arrival day but we have never stayed within walking distance to a park.

According to my DVP the price of the tickets when I booked is the price I'm locked into, whether I upgrade in the park or online. She just said to make sure you add the days before your last day or they'll charge you full price for a 1 day ticket. For us, she recommended upgrading at the hotel when we arrive, because my mother is on the reservation with us, but will not be staying for an extra day. So to avoid an extra $15 charge for her, I am to do it at the hotel and she said I shouldn't get any additional charges.

Thanks! And if you do decide to add an extra day while at the parks, please report back on the pricing. :)

I would go ahead and get all 6 days now so you can book FP for all of them in advance. It would be really easy to pop into Epcot on your arrival day and see a few things/use some FP's. We did a split stay between Beach Club Villas and Bay Lake Tower last summer and originally I had planned to save MK for the BLT portion of our trip. However, I quickly realized there was no way we'd be able to wait that long to set eyes on MK, so I planned a half day there while we were still at BCV. I wouldn't plan on staying for fireworks when you'll be able to walk back after them later in the trip, but I don't think I would wait to see the park at all.
