how many dates did you have

I was more of the steady, serious (as we had in high school) relationship kinda girl :goodvibes From the beginning of 7th grade through graduation I was always 'dating' some guy, normally this dating would go on from anywhere between 6 months and 2 years. One of the counselors at my school who I was always close with once told me I was 'married' during my junior year :lmao:

I went on a few dates with a few (maybe...4?) different guys until second semester of my junior year when I started dating one guy seriously. We're still together now, so that was the end of my dating around.

With my first boyfriend, we went on a few dates. With my second, the guy I married. Well, only a couple. He was just always at my house. When he got off work, he was there. His parents had to come over to see him. So, although I had boyfriends, not many actual dates.

I never went on any dates in high school. I was by no means popular and I was way too shy. I started dating my first boyfriend about a year after I graduated while he was still a senior in high school....and we are getting married in 10 months. :)

I was such a loser in high school and never talked to anyone, so I don't even know how I managed to get asked out so many times...
high school was awful!

I had one date in high school. I was elected junior prom king. I didn't know about the result of the election and wasn't going to the prom. My math teacher was our class sponsor and wanted to make sure I showed up for the event. She fixed me up with a real cute girl and I had my date. We had a good time even though I was a nervous wreck. I worked at a gas station that summer and my prom date would stop by for gasoline with short shorts on. This was in 1959 when we filled the tank, washed the windshield, etc. I was told she wanted to go out with me again, but I still couldn't ask her out for another date. I played sports and was somewhat popular, but had no confidence in myself. The fear of rejection was always on my mind.

When I went to college and after college, I made up for lost time though.

Not many. People thought I was stuck up but in reality I was just shy.

Far too many! What were my parents thinking letting me run around like that? I gave them a lot of gray hair!

I dated one guy for a year. I went steady with another guy for a year. In between, I dated three other guys each for a short period of time.

I had five boyfriends in high school, with only a little overlap ;). I think I was only single for about 6 months total in the full four years. Only two were serious though. And I didn't actually go on a lot of dates, more like group outings. No one really "dated" in the traditional sense. However, I'm still with the last one, I grabbed him as prom date and it just stuck :lovestruc

I had 2 boyfriends. Brian was a high school grad and about to join the Air Force and I was 15 and a sophomore. We were never more than friends, hadn't even held hands, when he formally asked my Daddy and Grandpoppy at a family get together for permission to "court" me :lovestruc They thought that was cute and figured no harm since he would be away in the service. We sent daily letters, talked on the phone weekly and spent his leaves together with him staying in Grandmommy and Grandpoppy's guest room and walking the 3 miles between our houses to see me each day. We somehow managed a little time alone but never "enough" ;) You'd have thought it was 1880 and not 1980 the way my family acted :sad2: . He proposed on my 16th birthday and I said yes. He had asked Daddy and Grandpoppy 1st and they gave their blessing on the condition we waited until after high school...sigh

A year later, a dear friend of mine lost his older brother in a car accident. I had gotten to know his brother well because he was going steady with my best friend. We turned to each other for comfort...................:rolleyes1...Garret and I stayed together for 5 years until he left college for New York to pursue his acting career. He wasn't ready for marriage then and I wasn't prepared to move across the country without that commitment :sad1:

He's doing GREAT now though. He's starred in a few HBO series, a couple Oscar nominated films (not as a lead in the films) and done well on Broadway. I'm quite proud of him. And I'm very happily married to my husband of 7 years. Sometimes, the universe works exactly as it should :)

Just one. We had a Jr/Sr. Sports banquet, and were required to bring a date.
All I can say is that poor, poor girl. Probably scarred (or scared) her for life.

Zero...thanks to mom and dad's ridiculous rule...your sisters were 15 when they started to date. You have to be 15, too. DUMB MOVE!!! And I'd bet $1,000 that they first knew of my sisters dating at 15, but I'd bet there were dates prior to that. :lmao: Unfortunately, I was always the good one who actually listened and did what my parents told me to do. Big mistake.

DS has met up with kids at a park. And there was a girl he "dated" all of a few weeks. Of course, she found some guy on a sports team more interesting. :lmao: Poor kid. I've told him...if she ever changes her mind, don't date her again. :thumbsup2
