How many contracts do you own? How many points are they?

Just curious as to how many members carry more than 1 contract. Is it better to have several smaller contracts at different resorts or 1 large contract at 1 resort?

As with most questions regarding preference, it depends. If you have a resort that you want to stay at "most" of the time, I would buy all of my points there and take my chances on the 7-month window for the occasional stay at a different resort. However if you like 2 ( or more ) resorts equally well, it might make sense to buy multiple contracts to make sure you have the 11-month window at your preferred resorts. We own at both VWL & BCV and this works well for us.

Dreams for the future : 100 - 150 @ HHI and another 50 @ SSR

If I were to have all my points at one resort, I would not have 1 large contract. It could be more difficult to sell, if we needed to and couldn't be broken up. If we had all of our points at HH, I would say we would have 3 150 pt contracts and 1 50 pt. This way if we needed to sell some, but not all points, we could.

We decided to do it the way we have because we wanted the 11 month window at all of these resorts.

I want another 100 points at saratoga Springs but the budget says no.Will I give in before the price jump?

We have our contracts spread out across 3 resorts and 5 contracts - all same use year though as we generally vacation around the same times each year.

663 Total

I only seeing us buying more in the future if the Canadian dollar gets stronger than about $1.15 per US$ - not holding my breath though

We have 700 pts at 2 resorts. We wanted the 11 month window at WDW(OKW) and ocean front(VB). We also want the 11 month window for the GV's and Beach Cottages when needed.

All of our contracts are Sept use yr and broken down into the following sizes...........

OKW-230-70-100= 400

VB-100-90-60-50= 300

With the programs set up by Caskbill,Dave Fredrickson, and Tagrel it is easy to keep track of our pts.

We've got 5 contracts for a total of 870 pts, but quit buying different use years after the first three. If I had it to do over, I would have waited for add-ons that were only split amonst two use years. I keep track of my pts in a spreadsheet.

We started with the 150 at BWV.

Then we went to HH & fell in love with the resort. For the past 3 years, we added points at HH to accomplish our goal of enough points for a week each summer. July will be our first trip where we don't anticipate adding more HH points --- but you never know.

I suspect we are going to love SS, so that could be our "trouble" spot in the future.

I know I would have never been comfortable purchasing all our points at the same time. Doing it over a couple of years made the financial committment easier on us.
