How many coffee mugs do you have (to use) ?

I used to collect pretty/unusual/Disney coffee mugs (mostly from garage sales) - and in my old house, I had at least a hundred on peg racks on my kitchen walls (which would get swapped out for the Christmas mug collection on Thanksgiving).. Made it very easy for people to shop for me - they would just find an unusual coffee mug - LOL..

When I moved out of my house and started living with my DD and her family during the winter - and up here at the lake for 7 months out of the year - I got rid of a ton of them.. Only kept the "extra special" ones.. But for me the mugs were a "collection" - not for every day use.. I'll never forget one year when I was taking the "regular" mugs down to put the Christmas ones up, I found $140 in one of the mugs!! :yay: Never found out how it got there, but "finders keepers"..;)

Here at the lake, I have around 15 for others to use and only one for myself.. It's a MM mug - milk glass - I think they call it.. I can't drink out of stoneware or anything like that - sensory issues, I guess.. The only other kind of mug I can drink from is Corelle..

I have 28 mugs - some are for tea, but most are coffee mugs. That doesn't include the cups from my china.

I thought I was doing really well when I cleared out my cabinets of all the mugs I never used anymore. But all it did was leave room for new ones. :lmao:

I am no longer allowed unsupervised trips to Starbucks :rolleyes1

You sound like me. I recently had to purge my collection because I could no longer fit them all in the cabinet. I'm down to 6 very special ones now. We're trying to really cut out some of our extraneous stuff before we downsize in two years. We'll be moving into our RV(think 240 sq ft) then and you definitely can't take it all with you.

I probably have 10 or so actual coffee cups (not including the ones that came with my formal china). I have about 10 travel mugs that have appeared over time. I use 3 travel mugs and only use the coffee cups when I have company.

My Grandpa collected tea cups/saucers when he traveled. He had well over 100 teacups that he built display racks for. EVERYONE in the family loved his collection and when he died they were the most coveted "prize" from his personal things. He cut out paper in the shape of a tea cup and put the place the cup came from and the date so we have a history of every where the cups came from. As a little kid I would spend hours going over the mugs and where they came from.

My step-mom is a coffee cup/tea cup person. I don't know how many she has for sure but I am sure it is well over 200.

What a great idea - the bolded part of your post! That was a very thoughtful (and educational) thing for your grandpa to do..:thumbsup2

Not including my longaberger ones that match my dishes. I am down to 10, for the 4 of us.

My intervention came a few months ago, when my DD flipped the shelf out of the cabinet, and broke about 18 of them. It was sad, but needed to happen.;)

. But whenever I am cruising Goodwill and find a mug with Disney anything, I buy it. .

I never thought of this! I will be hitting Goodwill more often!! :rolleyes1

I will have to slowly bring them out, maybe rotate them. This addiction is secondary to my addiction to tote bags I have 25 of those.

That may be a good comprimise, I can rotate them so the family doesn't get cranky that there is no room in the cabinets.:thumbsup2

By the way, did you all see the silhouette ones that were new this year? There was a Pooh, Mary Poppins and Peter Pan. We went in August, and I'm STILL craving that darn mug. I'm thinking the Peter Pan one... :rotfl:

Bite your tongue woman! You aren't supposed to be feeding my addiction!

(by the way, Disney Merchandising 1-407-363-6200 -- remind your family Christmas is coming. . . )

We have a Drive Thru Starbucks so that has helped! And I did get rid of about 15 and moved some to display status, so there is now more room! :scratchin

:scared1::eek::faint: Get. Rid. Of???? I don't think that is possible for my Disney ones.

SEE! Now that makes my measly 53 (55) seem not so bad!!

:eek::sad: RIP coffee mugs.

I have told my husband if any of mine get broken that is an automatic trip back to WDW to replace it! (don't tell him about that Merchandising number I mentioned above. . . :ssst: )

I have 2 coffee mugs and am very proud to say that they are both Disney themed!
DH has none and oldest DS has a Coke-a-Cola mug.
Younger 2 DS do not need coffee.

I probably have about 30 and I honestly don't know how it got that way. I never buy them. I swear coffee cups mate in my cabinet.

We probably have 50-60 mugs, but most are not used. We have a country kitchen with hooks around the bottom of the shelves. Lots of our mugs are used as decoration.

Maybe you should move the CoffeeMate to another cabinet?;)

Not including the ones with my china, I probably have around 35 or so. Some of those are Christmas mugs though, probably 8-10 and they are only out in the winter. :)

I've had a few of mine broken or chipped when the cats knock them off the shelf or counter....

There's probably near 20 in this house. Most get used on a rotational basis.
