how many carbs a day with atkins?

HI all although, I do not think I am a good canidate for atkins I was just curious as to how manys carbs a day allowance there is? Also, what are the numbers for fat, protein, ETC.
any info is appreciated.
 
Wiskband, for your first two weeks of induction you are supposed to keep it 20 grams and under.

I am currently on my second go 'round with Atkins. First time I made it 4 days! I am now in my 3rd week and have lost 5 pounds 16 days! As a matter of fact, I'm off to see if I can figure out how to get my new clippie.

The biggest challenge for me on Atkins is trying not to focus on what I can't have and get really creative with the things I can.

I'm in month 4, and I try to keep it under 25 carbs per day. Most days I hover around 20 and occasionally I'll eat 30-35. Oddly enough, on the weeks I have a high carb day, I always lose a little more than usual. I'm afraid to make it a habit though.
 
Yeah - what they said. ;)

During the first two weeks, keep it under 20 carbs per day (meat, eggs, cheese, and 3 cups veggies with salad dressing).

After the first two weeks, slowly add in more carbs (in the form of veggies, fruit, nuts, yogurt, etc.) until you reach the comfortable point where you're still losing, but at your maximum carbs. For me, that's 30-35 a day.

And, the same thing happens with me. On the days I have closer to 35 carbs, I lose more.

I'm on day 11 of Atkins and now I swear by it! I mentioned it to my best friend today and it turns out that both she and her mom have been on it for 3 months. Aimee has lost 20 pounds, and her mom (who was morbidly obese) has dropped 3 dress sizes and significantly improved her health!

Anywho -- you don't count fat or protein on this diet the way you would with Weight Watchers or similar programs. You need only concern yourself with carbs levels and you'll lose. While that may seem counter-intuitive, Atkins actually works as an appetite supressant. Once you break through your sugar addiction (usually within a few days), your appetite decreases dramatically, so the fat and protein are no longer an issue.

I wish you the best of luck! This is best decision (nutritionally speaking) that I have ever made. I lost 8 pounds my first week, and I'm about half way through my second week and I'm already noticing a difference in my clothes and everyone sees a difference in my face (I actually have a defined jaw line again!!!). Definitely give Atkins a chance!!!
