I identify with the "read fix"!Originally posted by letfuller
As an English teacher, I read alot. During the school year, if I become crabby and short tempered, I know I haven't had my read fix yet. I spend too much time on their papers. But, during summer, I average 5 or so a week, depending on the substance. I like many of you, find an author and read everything available.
One thing I do that I love to refer back to is: I keep a book journal. I put the date, title and author read. Then if I liked anything in particular, favorite quotes... I write that down too. Helps me remember and keep track of the books I read. Just this past year, I had my students write a recipe for a good year and I put down a goal of 75 books to be read. One student went home and thought about it and has set a goal for 50. I think he was at about 25 by the end of the school year. Made me smile![]()

A book journal is a great idea. I may have to start one.
I do something that has worked well for me for several years. I have two journals for books that have been recommended or ones that I've heard of that sound interesting. I write down the title, author, a short description, and ISBN number if available. There's also a star beside the ones that sound like ones worth buying. This way, I'm not looking for a little scrap of paper someday.
