I expect to be able to do anything and everything since you asked. Now what i'm in the mood for while I'm standing there is a different story.

I've never skipped or needed to skip anything. I've run out of things to do on some trips but never missed anything.

I guess it is hard for me to say how many in one day ( besides Christmas visits I would guess it is around 12 per day ) . We are going Dec 21-Jan 1 and will be at MK numerous times with the plan of doing all that we want. Which include FP+ on the headliners each visit and then the others as time allows. We normally do not do the bears or the birds, but hit just about everything else.....even non attractions like Stitch.

I voted 13-16 since you specifically asked about MK. There are things I don't do at MK such as spinners so no teacups, astro orbiter, dumbo, etc.

I selected 5-8 for touring with small kids. I can get considerably more done when touring with teens/adults only. Plus, we don't do too many TS meals, which can take a big chunk of time out of your day for rides/attractions.

I picked 9-12 and my thoughts were about my upcoming trip. We will do a character meal. And we will tour a little slower since we've been before and seeing everything everyday isn't as much of a concern. We like to take our time and stroll through the stores.

If I was going with my boys, we would do 16+, they are all about rides, rides and more rides.

Thanks for participating and all the responses.

I'd seen some very low (IMO) numbers thrown around about what guests expect when touring. As my expectation is more than double (close to triple) what I'd seen I wondered where I stood compared to other travelers.

When I visited 2 years ago early December with my family of four using FP+ and old fast passes we experienced 20 attractions (including double rides) before the 3pm parade (arrived before Rope drop) including lunch at Pecos Bill and a 30-minute romp on Tom Sawyer island, then left for the hotel pool. Here is the list from my trip report:

2x Dumbo
2x Barnstormer (1x for DS8 and DH)
2x Tea Cups
Carousel
Peter Pan FP+
Small World
Pooh
Enchanted Tales with Belle FP+
Philharmagic
Under the Sea FP-
Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain x 2 (DS11)
Big Thunder Mountain x 2 (DS11)
Tom Sawyer Island
WDW Railroad

I hate that those days might be gone forever, at least from what I read here.

The advantage of being a frequent visitor means we don't have to get as much done as possible when we go. Since you said MK and that's a half day park for us, I picked the lower end of the scale. There are no must do rides anywhere for us, we ride if we want or can if we can't no big deal. At MK we like to do:

Pirates
Swiss Family
Thunder Mountain
People Mover
CoP
Fireworks
Haunted Mansion
Jungle Cruise

Anything else is just a spur of the moment lets do that or we haven't done that in a while, let's do it. We always have PHs so we tend to do at least two parks every day, just sort of hopping around when we get bored or the park we are at is too full. Even when my son was a little one we didn't concentrate on rides or getting everything done, we've always just enjoyed being there.

These days I'd consider a dozen attractions satisfactory for a full MK day. Back when we toured commando style, we weren't satisfied with such a low amount.

Occasionally there are posts where people are thrilled to get their 3 FP+ attractions in and then call it a day. Those always flabbergasted me, but whatever floats their boat.

We were very successful this past week.

We arrived at Epcot at 4:30pm and managed TT and Soarin FP after a half day at MK with FP+

We did a lot on Halloween day between 8:45am-4pm

We had a BOG pre opening Breakfast so the family did 7DMT right after breakfast 2x, so all in all we hit :
7DMT 2x
Space 2x
Buzz
People Mover
Speedway
Mad Tea Party
Pooh
Dumbo
Barnstormer 2x
Under the Sea
ETWB (with FP+)
PP (with FP+)
BTMR 2x (1 FP+)
Splash
HM
Carousel
Laugh Floor
Philarmagic

(oh and we also had lunch at CHH)

I have always considered myself less commando than most DISers, and rarely tried to get more than 3 FP under either system (pretty sure "never" but didn't want to commit myself to it)

I never bothered to count how much we do until this, but we are generally interested in doing everything once (don't often re-ride just because we've never finished our first ride through everything!) I have always traveled with toddles/pre-schoolers so we're not very fast.

That said - I picked 13-16 because that's what we get done in fall from 9 am opening to 7 pm (party season and we didn't do the party). That includes a CS lunch but no afternoon break out of the park, and I didn't count the parade as an attraction (we did not stake out a spot more than 15 min ahead)

since it's what I've gotten in my last few trips, it's about what I'd consider "expected" for a good day on future trips.

I seriously never bothered to quantify my own experience, but this certainly spells out my confusion when others say "3 and out" or say you'll do 3 FP plus wait for approx 3 more and leave. . . As I said in my comments I don't consider myself remotely fast, but I do hope I'm more efficient than the guests who grabs a map at 10:30 and says "what do you want to do?" And we get 15-16 on a normal 10 hour day.

Clearly very different approaches abound, and/or some people are park hoppers and just describing one of their parks, OR doing 1/2 - 3/4 day in the park with lots of swim/dine/shop time. We pretty much eat, park, eat, crash!

Our typical day at MK

Rope drop ride:
Splash(1), Big Thunder(2), Pirates(3), HM(4), small world(5), Philharmagic(6),carousel(7), Little Mermaid(8)

Lunch
Use FP+ Peter Pan (9)

Leave take a break around 12:30 or 1:00.

Come back use FP+ for Space around 4:30/5:00(10).
Have dinner
Use FP+ for splash/Peter pan/7dmt/jungle cruise(11) Watch tiki birds(12) and country bear jamboree(13). Wait in line for HM(14). Wait in line for teacups(15). Wait in line for pirates(16), people mover(17), CoP(18), wait in line for buzz if we're feeling it.(19)

Doing rope drop is HUGE! You can easily (on a normal day) get 5-6 rides done in a couple hours.

With a toddler .. my last few trips have been attraction-lite 9-12 due to breaks, naps, slow moving, long meals, bathroom breaks, snack breaks, etc. .. but that is A-OK with me . I could enjoy the MK without ever riding a single thing (and so could my family).

But there were other things we did that most wouldn't consider "attractions" that made the day memorable on top of all the fun rides/shows we saw.
- Incredibles Dance party (we probably spent a good 30-45 minutes here).
- Be our Guest lunch (it was raining so we took our time and was here for at least an hour or more)
- Getting our pictures done at Photo Pass stops
- Watching a parade
- Watching the night shows

Well, this poll is not comparing you to typical travelers, it is comparing you to those guests who hang out on a Disney board, particularly in a thread about maximizing attractions. The results are about what I'd expect so far. The average is 6 rides per guest, and this forum is about how to get more. Interesting that the 5-and-up categories are pretty diversely split.

For every guest who rides 12, there are 2 who ride only 3 (or one who rides none)... but those guests are not out here in a thread about maximizing rides.

So who and how you poll, matters. Think of it this way. Let's say we want a poll of the fastest speed people have driven. You ask this poll...
1) on a racing forum
2) at a local DMV
You're going to get very different results! 1) will tell you how you compare to other people whose hobbies involve driving particularly fast. 2) will tell you how you compare to all people who go in to the DMV.

At least 10 attractions during a MK day. It could easily be more, but we wouldn't stay from 9am to 9pm. We'd take a 2-3 hour break in the afternoon, or limit ourselves to about an 8 hour non-stop session.

I agree. I always take a break in mid afternoon.

We tour with 3 little kids and 2 grandparents. We went a few weeks ago but it was quite busy on non party days. Still. We did Peter Pan, pooh, barnstormer, space, people mover, Astro orbiter, speedway, dumbo, lunch at quick service. Fp for 7dmt, haunted mansion (longest wait all day). Off for a break and back around 5. Did people mover again, dumbo again, tea cups, buzz. Then fp for parade and wishes.

So ...16 plus lunch? We are very much commando tourists though, although we do take a break. But it's full speed ahead when we're there

I am not staying for so long a day, and I go often, and I am happy with 5-8 things a day. I enjoy non park things as well.
