How many different appetizers should I serve for an informal game night for about 7 people? I am thinking about a new pizza dip that I found with some pita chips, some kind of wrap, and maybe another dip. Is this enough or should I do some more?
If appetizers are the only food served all night, then I would have 2-3 choices. If you are following up with some sort of main course, then I would just have one, maybe two appetizers.
Standards:
chips and pretzels
veggies and dip
cheese, crackers, and summer sausage
mixed nuts or just salted peanuts
Then depending on who's house we are at, we all have our own gotta have when we are at X's house:
A hot and cold shrimp dip
A mexican meat and cheese dip
Meatballs
Mini taco's and a bean dip
Loaded potato skins
For 7 people (who may have eaten dinner)...I would do 2 formal appetizers (like the dip and the wraps), a dessert (like brownies or cookies---something one can just grab one of now and then), and put out some fruit (grapes maybe---if you want to, you could toss some cheese cubes out as well) and some chips/nuts/pretzels (because the are so easy and wont' go bad).
I would go with the idea a PP had, 2 standard appetizers, a dessert and some fruit. For the standards I'd go with a veggie tray and chips & dips or bread and dips.
