How mant bird feeders do you have?

Those finches are big piggys!! We had the same problems with squirrels, and bought some of those baffle things that didn't work. DH finally made some homemade ones from sheet metal.

We didn't buy the baffle ones. A friend has one and the batteries run down too fast. The video 'online' was too cute though!! Ours are of the same family, but they're tall, and squirrels can't turn loose to reach the seed. If they do, the slots close, and they are left hanging (literally) until they fall. :)

I still have 1 thistle feeder for my finches that is busy almost year round. I refill it daily right now. Otherwise, I quit filling feeders and just throw the regular bird seed on the ground daily. The birds seem to love it, especially the quail.

Actually I toss the seed on the ground on top of a 4 foot block wall. We have a large slope behind our house that goes to an open space. We get all kinds of wild life out there. My husband calls it feeding noah's ark. We love to sit on the patio and watch all the activity.

I don't use hummingbird feeders because the hummers feed on my plants and the ants get really bad here.

None. I have enough bird and squirrel problems without deliberately attracting them. Could be worse, though - the suburb my mother lives in is considering banning bird feeders because they're attracting rats.

We love watching the birds. I thought Bluejays were mean until watching female hummingbirds!!!

Our squirrel thieves usually ending up perishing due to lead poisoning!

We have 7 regular bird feeders, a suet feeder, and 6 hummingbird feeders. We're pretty obsessive. After Disney, bird watching is our favorite hobby. We go on about 1 trip a year just to go bird watching, and in addition we always take our binnocculars when we go to WDW and to HHI.

Me and DH loved sitting on our balcony watching the hummingbirds, the bullybirds are hilarious. We had one (we called him porky, he was so fat!) he would fly up and sit on a nearby tree branch, and when another hummer would come to the feeder, he'd dive-bomb him! We had to put up more feeders, because that one was obviously "his" feeder!

We have a farm behind our house. We have about 65 wild turkeys that roam our neighborhood on a twice a day basis. We don't leave any food out for them and they very nicely take care of the slugs and other insects in our yard.

I do have 3 finch feeders, one suet feeder, and 2 regular bird feeders. We have one lonely squirrel, who on occasion tries to get food out of the regular bird feeders. The blue jays attack him mercilessly, so he'll disappear for several weeks. So far I've been able to attract goldfinches, red-headed woodpeckers, blue jays, cardinals, redwinged blackbirds, & chickadees.

This year I want to try and attract some hummingbirds and baltimore orioles.

Those Orioles are hard to attract!! I decided to try when we lived in MO and saw in the bird book that they were in our area. Anyway i only saw one ONE day, when I just happened to be looking out the bedroom window. We'd been trying to bribe them over with orange slices. I love the woodpeckers, we had a Pelliated which I swear was as big as a cat! Downey, Harry, Red-Headed, and Red-Bellied.
