How low would you go?

We just closed on our SSR contract of 316 points for $45 per point. I was comfortable with $50 per point but decided to offer $45 so I had some room to negotiate. To my surprise my offer was accepted. We split MF fees and I paid closing costs. Hope that helps.

great going! My mom once wanted to turn down a full price offer on her house for someone who was $10K lower....because she "liked" them better. Luckily we were able ot convince her it was business not find a new best friend.

Our contract went to ROFR last week as well for BWV. We offered $55 per point and ended up with $57 PP. We were told that Disney starts to question below $55 for BWV.

You will have to let us know if your $50 pp. gets accepted. We would love to add on.

I don't believe that is true either. We were told by a broker to not go below $50-$52 on OKW contracts or it would most likely get ROFR'd. We offered $45 per point and it passed. (although a couple others around the same time got ROFR'd, at higher prices???) I say go low and give yourself some room to negotiate :)

Proud to say that we got one of the $46 contracts at BWV. Made offer in March, just after the rule change. Passed ROFR in early May, I think. But that was when they were only ROFR'ing BCV. Now I think they may be doing more. Haven't followed it as closely. $46 was their asking price.

do the brokers work on commission???
Yes. And, in most cases, they represent the seller, not the buyer. If you are buying, the broker is not the person from whom you want to be taking pricing suggestions.

glad we didn't listen to her :) it would have cost us an extra $700. thank goodness for the ROFR thread on here.

although i have to admit i wouldn't have thought to ask for $45 pp when the asking price was $60 like others have

Some of the question also goes to speed. We wanted to buy in fairly quickly, as we were already within less than 11 months of the first trip we wanted, and we wanted a specific booking that was sometimes hard to get. It was a fully loaded contract, at a reasonably fair price, and we offered $3 less than listing, and they took it RIGHT AWAY. Yes, we could have lowballed and went from contract to contract, but this was the one we wanted, and we wanted it fast. It all has to factor into your equation.
