How long would you wait for Fantasmic

On our last visit in November, 2010 we were caught completely by surprise by the wait for Fantasmic. I tried to get the Fantasmic Dining package 6 months ahead of time, but was not able to get it.

We arrived to get in line about an hour before the show and the line was already past Beauty and the Beast! Even at that point, my husband and I had to split up with one kid each in order to find a place to sit. My daughter (then 13) and I couldn't even get seats together, so we were a couple rows apart but could see each other. My son (then 8) and DH squeezed together. Not the ideal situation to be sure, but we made it work.

It must be the time of year we go. We typically vacation in Disney the first week of October and we usually walk in as they are opening it up for people to come in and sit. Never have stood in line for any more then 10 minutes, we have always typically walked in as it was opening up and always got decent seats. But again when we go is a slower time for Disney.

One more thing to consider: The show schedule currently posted will likely change before your trip.

Last year, 2nd Fantasmic shows were added to almost all evenings in December. However, those changes weren't finalized and announced until November 18.

Keep watching the calendars for updates. If a 2nd show gets added, you should be able to attend it with minimal wait.

According to the crowd calendars, mid December is expected to be a little less crowded than early June. We went to the late showing of Fantasmic a couple of weeks ago during a very crowded Star Wars weekend. We strolled into the ampitheater about 10 minutes before showtime and found great seats. The place was less than half full.

That would be awesome! Thanks for letting me know!

My.personal plan for fantasmic is to go to the first show but have a concession stand dinner while we're waiting for it to start. I'm going end of Oct so avg crowds and I'm not too concerned about where we'll sit. But figure we have to eat anyway so why not have a picnic while waiting for it to start.

You can book Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose for 1TS credit. You can also get a FP+ for Fantasmic! (if you want to). Or you can wait in standby... which can be pretty time consuming.

If it were me... I would book the F! dining package :goodvibes

Something is going on with F! dining packages. There have been other threads about it and I have found this myself when trying to book for November. They are no longer available. We are wondering if they are phasing out or changing this plan. Unless something has changed in the past week or so to release more dinner packages that I am unaware of. Hopefully time will soon tell. Good luck OP!

Interesting. I tried on my day 179 and there was not one seating available at any of the 3. I tried both online and by phone.
