I'm 99% positive that it changes after 75 posts.

Yes, the amount of time doesn't change your description - it's the number of posts. 75 for Mouseketeer and 500 for DIS Veteran. You just need to gab a little more often.

In order to "earn your ears" you must have achieved the total of 500 posts. At that point you become a DIS Veteran which is the highest rank you can receive unless you sponsor or are a moderator.
