How long were you engaged???

Hi girls

well I am just wondering how long some of you were engaged.. We are planning for a fall 2008 wedding.. That will be a little over 2 years being engaged.. I feel that it is sooooooo farrrr awaaaaaaaaaayyy. but I graduate college this June so at least it will give us time to save for a house.. Has anyone been engaged for two years or maybe more???

I have been with DF for 5 years now, we have been engaged for 1 and by the time we are at our Jan 2009 wedding we will have been engaged for 4 years

my fiance and I long distance "dated" for about 6 months, then I moved in with him and we lived together for 11 months, then we got engaged, and by the time we get married, we will have been living together for a little under 2 years.

DF and I got engaged on our 50 month anniversary (yes, the dork planned it that way ). We are having a long engagement. 1 year, 6 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day It feels like we have been engaged forever!

I could almost have written this. We knew it was coming, but until he was employed, it just couldn't happen. We started dating in Jan of 2001, knew we would be eventually getting married in July of 2001, and finally got engaged after we had both graduated college in December of 2004. We were married in August of 2005, giving us about a 7.5 month engagement.

We were engaged for 9 months.
We met April 2004 when my best friend introduced us (she used to date his best friend so they were acquaintances). We were long distance for over a year. He proposed January 2005 and I moved in with him July 2005, after he bought our house and I got a job where we live now. We were married October 2005 - so 9 months from meeting we got engaged and 9 months after that we got married!
The engagement was a complete surprise - he did an amazing job on the whole proposal and picking out the ring! I knew we'd get engaged, but I thought he'd wait until our 1-year anniversary to propose. He has since told me - "I knew I'd marry you, so why wait?"

we started dating in January, 2003...fast forward to Sept. 2006 when we officially got engaged. Planning a Dec. 07 wedding, so our engagement is about 1 year and 3 months.

B/c you know when you first start dating 1 month is a big deal, 2 months and so on. So, on our 4 year anniversary, I'm said something like happy 48 month anniversary. He's like wow that's almost 50, and 50 is a big deal. So I guess that's why he proposed on our 50 month anniversary I'm going to calculate now when our 100 month is, and ask him what he's planning for that

We got engaged between 2nd and 3rd year of university and got married right after we graduated. So a good 2 year engagement. We knew we would be getting married long before that, so I told DH he could propse "anytime after 2nd year", so he proposed 2 weeks after second year was done. He was going to propose the night of our last exam, but since we had a Disney trip planned, he waited until then!

Today is the one year anniversary of our engagement!!

We're getting married in 69 days, so just a little over a year.
