Believe it or not, my 16 yr old middle DS asked that question of me today......his birthday is this Friday.:D

I got to the hospital at 4:00 am with oldest DS but didn't have him til 9:00 that night, 17 hours later! One LONG Day!!

Middle DS was the quickest. Got to the hospital at 8:00 pm and had him within 3 hours!!

Went to the hospital at 11:00 pm with my youngest but didn't have him til 6:15 the next morning, so 7 hours later. I spent 3 days in the hospital three months previous keeping him from joining the world too soon!!:D

Did you and your SO spend a lot of time at the hospital waiting for the BIG moment??:sunny:

With my son it was 9 hours in the hospital but about 18 hours of labour at home first.

With my daughter I was about 4 hours at the hospital but a total of about 30 hours of labour at home before the hospital

I thought labour was supposed to get shorter with each one not longer, decided not to try that again. :D

First daughter I went into the hospital 2 weeks before she was born by emergency C-sec. Only 2 hours of mild labor.
Second daughter I went into the hospital at 9pm the night before and had a C-sec at 8am the next morning. Planned, no labor.

Scheduled c-section. At the registration desk at 6 a.m., baby's delivery time was 8:12 a.m. :teeth:

Everything happened with DS really fast! First, DS wasn't due until July 31st, but around 6:00am on July 2nd, my water broke! We arrived at the hospital around 7:00am, I started pushing around 11:00am and DS was born at 12:42.

Four days! LOL!

After hours of unproductive labor (they swore it would be anytime), the contractions pretty much stopped. We decided to induce. A horse's dose of pitocin did nothing, so finally we opted for a c-section. I went home the next morning!

Second DS, we scheduled the C-section and I was up pacing the halls that evening.... went home early the next morning.

I am not much for hospitals!!!

My water broke at 5:30 a.m. I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. and DD wasn't born until 9:30 p.m.! I hope my next one isn't going to be that long.

Hmm #1 - like 16 hours of torture #2 about 6 hours - they told me to try and not push because the dr. was running down the hall and then #3 was exactly 1 hour and 10 min. I was worried we wouldnt make it. Had to drop off the kids at last minute babysitter as my sister was critically ill (she later passed away) I was glad it was over as it was a bittersweet time for the family. But all of them with no epidural. Wow, wonder what that is like? They refuse to give it to me because of other health problems I have had. I understand though as I could possible be parilyzed so I toughed it out.

#1, I was awfully sick and almost due. I went to the hospital at the army base about 6pm After about 4 hours of doing nothing but waiting they decide to keep me and watch my infection. I went into labor about 11pm, me and the rest of the hospital staff was watching Solid Gold on my tv. lol I had her about 2:20pm the next day. about 20 hours

#2, the docs was afraid I was getting pre-eclampsia, so they admitted me. Three days later they start the pitocin and I had her at 2:30pm the next day. emergency c-section, 4 days.

13 hours with the first, second I got there at 6:00 for a 9:00 scheduled c-section, unfortunately for me it was a very busy day for deliveries so I didn't end up delivering until almost noon

With first DD woke up at 1am she was born at 11:15am

With second DD had BIG dinner at 5pm, went into labor at 5:30 and she was born at 10:16

With DS woke up at 1:15am he was born at 4:15am, Doctor almost didn't make it on time, she was still scrubbing as he was crowning

I work fast... 6 hours with first, 18 minutes with the second!

I went to the hopsital with my contraction less thena 30 seconds apart ( I was in denial that I was in labor:eek: ) Arrived at around 11:30 and she was born at 4:17 the next morning. What took so long was the dr. needed to break my water. He was down stairs sleeping.

With my first DS I was in the hospital for 6 hrs before he was born. With my second DS I was in the hospital for 4 hrs before he was born. Both were inductions and I only pushed two times with each of them. Smooth as Butter!;)

I went at 12:00 am and was sent home about 2 hours later and then I was back in again around 6am and my son was born at 11:05 am:D And he was born on his due date:D

lynn55,
just barely:D
My water broke at 3:30am, waking me. I got up, started to shower, changed my mind, told DH it was time to leave NOW! And we made it to the hospital at 4:08 am. Baby was crowning as I walked into the hospital.. they threw me on a gurney and rushed me into a delivery room. They had me pant and blow so not to push until the doc who was there could wash up!!!

I was in labor at the hospital for 18 hours and then they decided to do a C-section. DD didn't want to leave her mom. We are still very close!

I know a lady that went into labor, went to the hospital. The docs said you have plenty of time, go home and come back tomorrow. She had her baby 1 hour after they got home.
