How long was YOUR wait at Avis Counter?

Here's my dilemma. We arrive 2/21 at 2:30 and depart 3/1 at 7:30. It ends up being 9 days. I have a National EA full size reservation for the full 9 days for $228. Or I can use a coupon for a free day for Avis and rent from Avis at the airport, return that car to the Hilton at DTD, go to the car care center and rent for 1 week with National for $183 - a savings of $45. The transfer is a bit of a hassle, but that doesn't concern me as much as the difference between standing in line to get a cal and just walking to the garage. I saw on a thread awhile ago where someone stood in line for 1.5 hours for their rental car. I would gladly pay the $45 in trade fo 1/5 hours. So back to the original question, anyone have experience with Avis lines at MCO?

I just got back from a trip and used Avis. Sign up for their "Preferred" program on their web site and you won't have to go to the counter at all - just straight to the garage for pick-up. When I walked past the counter though, there were about three people in line at 10AM on a Friday.

We've gotten them many, many times via Priceline, and out of all of those, we only had a long wait once. The other times were either no wait at all or maybe a couple of people in front of us.
Right after the hurricanes, we had a long wait for a car twice because they were bringing 'em from someplace offsite. But that is not the norm at all...you'll be safe since hurricane season is finally over!
