How long was your planning session trip?

I'm wondering how long you went down for your planning session trip. I'm losing people to go on this trip (Rob DF, can't get the time off, and my step mom won't have the time to go in May), so now I'm down to my dad and myself. I'm trying to figure out how long I need and what I need to do while I'm there. Insight, opinions and witty banter encouraged!

Thanks!

meg,
We ended up staying a week just becuase we wanted to. The session itself is only 1 day. It all depends on how much time YOU and YOUR dad want to stay :cool1:

We did a 3 1/2-day banzai run:

- arrived Saturday afternoon
- met photogs and makeup artist for engagement pix Sunday
- site visit, menu tasting and planning session Monday
- went home Tuesday

:faint: We didn't want to activate our APs, so we explored the resorts in our off time. It was SO much fun, and I wish I could do it all again. :goodvibes

We took a day to go down there. It really depends on how often you can go between the wedding & planning session. We did a site visit & tasting & that was really all we needed. But we had visited earlier in the year just to have a site visit without the DH.

Make your list & then add half a day.

We are making a vacation out of it. We are going for 8 days and are planning on visiting MW Tux and meeting with some videographers.

That's pretty close to our trip too; we only went into the parks one day since we went in September during free food and you had to purchase a 1 day pass!

I stayed a week but the planning session was only 1 day.

Us too. We did free dining and activated our AP's that week. Other than the planning session and tasting we toured the hotels we wanted in our room block and tried some of the restaurants we were thinking of using for RD and other group events. If your DF and step mom can't go is there an option to change the dates? I was so anxious for the planning session, and then it was more waiting around after that.

we're local (only about 1.5 hours away) so we just went down for 1 night. it was still a lot of fun. We stayed at AKL w/ me, DH, and MIL. My MIL and me were up all night at the resort talking about wedding stuff before the PS...it was cute. We had our PS the next day and headed back home. Due to some conventions going on at that time we had to go back 3 weeks later for our tasting session. We just went down for the afternoon that day. :)
