How long to walk the "trails" in Animal Kingdom?

We're going to WDW Sept 8-16. This is our second trip, but when we went last year we never made it to AK (just didn't have time). We are planning to go this year.

I'm trying to make a rough schedule, and wondering how much time to allow for walking the two animal trails--the Pangani Forest Trail, and the Maharaja Jungle Trek. We will spend some time looking at each exhibit, but I can't picture us watching the animals for more than 5-10 minutes before we move on to the next exhibit. So how much time should I allow for us walking these two trails?

TIA!

Kelly

There not very long at all. I'd say each trail is maybe 10 minutes to walk straight through without stopping.

but there is really no point in walking them if you're not going to stop and look at the animals for a little bit. I would spend a bare minimum of 20 minutes at each.

Last year we did a leasurely walk through each and stopped at each exibit. We did not spend extended periods of time but did stay for a few min or so at each. I think it took us about an hour, maybe slightly less.

You'll get a variety of answers. I usually think about 20-30 minutes. But then when we go with my father-in-law, we have to add on about ten minutes for him to take a bird identifier card and hunt out all the birds in the aviaries. Or, when we took our granddaughter and spent ten minutes at the entrance of the trail telling her she would have a good time. She didn't believe us and didn't want to go. But that trek took us over an hour to do. She wanted to know about every single animal in there. Inculding the common little bunny rabbit that she sees every weekend at her dad's. So it depends on what you want to do. And don't count out there could be Cast Members out explaining more about the animals.

It's self guided so it's not really easy to put a time limit on either trail. I do recommend that you enjoy these when you have enough time to really enjoy them. A quick walk through gets you almost nothing.

I would encourage people to take their time on the trails. Strike up a conversation with the cast members along the way. All the ones I've encountered are very knowledgable about the animals. It makes the experience much richer. After all, it's not a zoo...

We love the gorilla and tiger trails. How much time we end up spending depends on who active the animals are on a given day. Sometimes the gorillas and tigers are up and about and we could just spend a long time watching them.

Yes - as others have said, please don't rush! These trails are wonderfully relaxing, as well as fun. Give yourself a minimum of 30 minutes to trapse along.

Hint - on the tiger trail in Asia, if you go right at 9am when it opens, you'll only find sleeping tigers, since they feed them right before opening. If they fall asleep where you can see them, you can marvel at their beauty, but if you go later, when they're awake, you may have a chance to see them romping around in their pool!

Without kids or a spouse that has to read every sign...30 minutes. If one of the above, 45-60 minutes.
