How long to wait on offer response?

Uber excited that I finally decided to pull the trigger on purchasing, and looking forward to years of vacations. We have been looking for quite some time, and finally put in our first ever resale offer on Wednesday. Received a call from the broker, and then crickets since. It's been two days.

How long is too long to wait for a response? Are sellers expected to respond within a certain timeframe? Are brokers expected to provide the response back to the buyer?

Anxious, and want to move on and make another offer if this one is a flop.

Until you sign anything, you aren't obligated. I made 3 offers at the same time and the first one to accept my offer is the one I purchased from. I definitely wouldn't wait 2 whole days to hear back if there were other contracts that I was interested in.

There are multiple reasons why you might not be getting a response. A lazy broker, an unmotivated seller, personal issues, etc. There’s no set rule about how long you should wait. I’ve received instant responses, but have received answers weeks later. Some don’t even answer back. You can call the broker if you want to hear what’s happening.

I personally send my offer with an expiration date of 24-48 hours, but that’s my preference.

You dont have to wait you can make other offers. Id also follow up again, they are likely waiting to hear back from the seller I would think.

Excellent! I will look into more options then and make more offers. There's plenty of my use year and location out there - just trying to find the right contract and price.
