How Long To Stay At Wdw???

We've done 5 nights each time we've gone. It's been good, but I'd rather stay 10. I do feel rushed while there, although we do take the afternoon breaks and an easy day. I'm going in November for 6 nights. Wished now it was 7. The more the merrier I think. Maybe next year I can swing the 10 nighter. Good luck with your trip

I think seven nights is a very comfortable amount, although I could easily do eight or nine.

If you want to stay a little shorter time to control costs six nights is a good compromise, it feels almost as good as a week.

Less than that I think you'll be either commanding it or cutting a lot of corners. We did four nights once and it was a fabulous trip but more commando than relaxing.

Unless it is a quick, short-planned getaway, I will try to always go at least seven nights now.

Stay as long as you can!!! :cool1:

Our longest stay has been 9 nights, and we would gladly double that if we could.

Hello,

Not to get off subject or anything, but the logo I support Cedric Diggory, is that from the new harry potter movie?? Also, we are staying for 10 days with a 7 day Park hopper pass. So the day we fly in is off, we have a break somewhere in the middle, and the day we fly home. :)

No less than 7 days, and more if you can do it. That way you can take your time, do everything that you want and still not feel like you are running a marathon.

Most kids seem to do better in the parks in the mornings, and at the pools at their resorts in the later afternoons after a nap, with an early dinner.

Also, think about visiting the water parks. Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have EXCELLENT areas for small kids. Typhoon is a bit more relaxed for the adults!;)

For us, 4 days is too short (but we do it when I have an "itch" to go). Seven days is good. It gives us enough time to do the parks and time to relax at the resort. We did 10 days and we thought it was too long, after the 7th day, we were ready to go home! So seven is perfect for us.

we fly in from CT (not that we go as often as the veteran's here!) and I like 9-10 days. The day we fly in is always hectic so we usually spend it exploring the resort with a special dinner somewhere on property but not in a park. The last day is busy getting ready to leave so a 9 or 10 day stay is really only 7-8 usable days. If you look at needing 5 or 6 for the parks, with breaks for small children, that's the whole vacation with one day maybe to do "nothing", a relative term in WDW!!!

I only get to the Mouse once every 5 or so years (DH is not a big fan and kids are so-so) so I want to see EVERYTHING!! But with small children, you can really leave out spending a lot of time in World Showcase for example. Better to miss some things and have everyone happy!!

Thinking of leaving them all asleep in the room and doing the parks myself!!!

Pooch

I think 7 nights isn't enough. We were at WDW in July 2005. I have a 4 year old, 15 month old and my neice who is 8 years old was with us. We did one water park, stood at the hotel pool one day, ak and mk and didn't even come close to seeing a lot of things. We didn't even have enough time for MGM. Next time we go it will be for 10 nights. You be surpise how many bathroom breaks, eating and resting can consume the day.

Yeah, the Goblet of Fire movie website has some cute downloadables one each of the triwizard champions.

I could easily stay 9-10 nights... stretches the budget a bit, but the new park passes make longer trips more affordable. Now if there could be a length of stay discount for resort rooms.... :rotfl2:

We are going in January when it is not as crowded for 7 days/nights. We have been to Disney before but during busier times. This is our first trip with our ds. I have been considering adding an eighth night as we are leaving on the Saturday before MLK day, but I thought it would be nice to get back and have a couple days to unwind before going back to work. Any thoughts?

We are only going for 5 nights. I know we won't see it all, but after 5 nights
DS 5 and DS 2 will need to get back to their regular routine. I wish my kids had better stamina, but they don't. Even going to grandma's house for the weekend wears them out!

We have three small children. In 2003 we stayed 7 nights at Disney, in 2004 we did 8 nights at Disney and 3 nights at Universal, 2005 - 2 nights at Nick Hotel and 15 nights at Disney. I think the ideal time for Disney would be at least 10 nights if possible.

We did our first ten night vacation last year and loved it. We'll be there for 11 nights this time. The big, big bonus is that we have time to do all our favorites in each park AND still have plenty of time to relax and actually get a vacation out of it. We spent one afternoon just playing board games in the Drawing Room at the Beach Club Villas. Nothing felt rushed. Someone mentioned routines but staying a longer time actually allows us to KEEP to our daughter's routines (she has Aspergers). We're a family of three, with DVC and PAP's. For this next trip we'll spend the first two nights at Pop, five nights at BCV, and then four at OKW.

We tend to go for about a week - typically 7 nights, that being said we also tend to go from mid-week to mid-week giving us some relaxed time at home to wind down before we go, and some time when we get back to catch up on the yard work (my wife is a teacher so we also go in the summer) As for what duration is right for you - only you know your family, I would love to go for 12-14 days but for my family that would be just too much time out and it would stop being a vacation and turn into a chore.
