How long to receive your Rewards card?

Our vaca is 8/28 to 9/3/05 this year. Waiting till the last moment to request the card. I think the billing cycle ends around the 10th of each month. If I wait till that time to get the rewards credited to my account, would I receive the card in time? Do you think it would be best to request card now & then the next cycle just call to request rewards be transferred to the card?

I would get the card now and simply call or get online later and transfer the dollars over. I don't remember how long it took to get ours, but it was not long. I still would not wait....any delay could mean it would arrive after your trip. We used up every penny we had on it last month! I was very pleased how easy it was to use throughout WDW.

I remember trying to order mine ahead but the girl insisted I couldn't. So I watied. Luckily I got it pretty quickly. We leave next Friday and I think I ordered mine the end of June. I got it within a week. I'd definately say if you can order the card early and then only have to put the credit on the card you already have. You can also have the card overnighted, but why spend money on that.

Order the card now. Any more rewards dollars you get, you can transfer to the card later, it is an instant transfer.

I ordered my card in April 2004 and it is good until December 2005. Maybe it changed since I got my card.

If you are ordering now, I would recommend leaving $10 to be transferred as that is the minimum amount that can be transferred. If you don't earn another $10 between now and then you won't lose those few dollars because you will still have the minimum setting there. That is what I did last June as the transfers happen instantly.

I am soooo glad I read this thread! I had no idea that the cards themselves expire, just thought the points did. Just called and requested a new card for our August trip. Thanks!

Then you charge the payment of your hotel resort on day 1 of the vacation - lets say $2000 - which would give you $20 in rewards.

Can you call and have the $20 added to the rewards card the next day - day 2 of the vacation ? Or do you have to wait till the next billing cycle to have the $20 rewards applied to the card ?

You would have to wait until the next billing cycle. I just paid off my stay so I can transfer the rewards before I go.

I believe the card is active through December of the year following when the card is ordered. So, cards ordered the reaminder of this year would be active through December 2006.

We ordered ours on July 4th and got it today!!!!! It is good though 12/06. I also got our luggage tags and package info from DU today - we are 26 days out!!!!!

If you want to wait until you get there, you can pick them up in guest services at DTD-just make a phone call from inside there and the card is in your hand, ready to go!
