How long to hop between parks?

I'm trying to finalise my plans and just need to know how long I should allow to hop between parks if we're in DL and want to hop over to DCA to get FP's and then go straight back to DL for more rides. Grateful for any help, thanks!

It is about a 2-minute walk, so you just need to factor in possible wait time if there is a crowd waiting to enter either of the parks.

Two minutes if you walk slow. It "right" there... (Unless I am not understanding what you mean of course.) You walk out of DL and nearly walk right into DCA... you walk across a quad area, but its nothing.

It is about a 2-minute walk from the gates of DL to the gates of DCA. After factoring in the 'line-time' the total "hopping" time is about 7-12 minutes. Not very long at all :thumbsup2

Yes, remember, the 2 minutes is from gate to gate... not including the walk from where ever you are, through Main Street and then through the DL gate to get your stamp...

Don't forget though that it will take a bit longer depending on where in the park you are in DL and where you are going to at DCA. If you're back in Critter Country and want to head over to Screamin' or ToT from there, grab a FP, and then head back to DL, it will be much longer than that 2 min. walk across the esplanade. I'd figure about 20 min. depending on the lines to get into the park entrances. Of course if you're near the entrance to DL and just going over to get a Soarin' FP, that could prolly be done in about 10-12 min.

How much longer would you figure for crowds if it is around the time of parades or fireworks?

It would depend on how busy the particular day you were there (i.e. peak or non-peak really)...I was there a couple of weeks ago and hopped right at parade time from DCA moments before fireworks time - and it took me 5 minutes gate to gate (it also kind of depends on how fast the cast members/people in front of you are handling the tickets!)

Yes, I agree with PP about depending on the day/crowds. I have never been on a slow day .. but I was stuck, literally stuck, after Fantasmic in October for over an HOUR! :scared1: It was insane... but deffo dont count on 2 minutes then!

We're thinking about trying the infamous Trifecta :scared1: (well the first two parts anyway), and it seems pretty daunting.

Last time I did the first two parts of the trifecta, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had opened up extra gates at DLR to let more people in (this was definitely during off-season though - February).

I guess they saw me coming at full throttle and decided I meant business. :rotfl:

So I'm more of a person to see how fast I can get from one park to the other. I think I'll time myself when I'm there in April. ;)

Hey Callie, I like the idea of watching the EP (are you doing the FW event?) then rushing over to see the Fireworks, then taking the train over to NOS for Fantasmic, are any of us going to try and do that???

Well, seeing as we should have Priority Seating from the VIP tour, I'm thinking we won't really need to rush. ;)

I haven't figured out exactly when I want to see each show. But I know for sure I'm doing the wine tasting on Sat night. Attempting the trifecta after a few glasses of wine could be fun . . . or maybe just funny. :lmao:

I vote for funny!! :drinking1

You guys are killing me, stop talking about the girls trip! Or at least stop talking in random places I can't avoid for fear of massive jealousy. :rolleyes1 Unless you all want to start a scholarship for airfare. Wanna start a scholarship for airfare? :rotfl: :goodvibes :flower3:

About distance between the parks....in my first two horribly misguided trips when I thought DCA must be the silliest thing ever, looking from DL to DCA made it appear approximately 50 miles away. (exaggerating)

Now that I know I love DCA, it's just a hop skip and a ju...not even a full jump! That's how close they seem to me now. :upsidedow

Thanks for all your replies. Looks like it's gonna be easier than I thought to grab Soarin FP's as & when!

Sounds like you're all going to have a great time on your girls trip, hope you enjoy it!
