How long to get to LAX from DL?

My dad is flying into LAX this Wednesday. We decided to go to DL for a few hours before picking him up and driving back to Bakersfield. His flight gets in at 6pm. What time should we leave the park in order to get there about 6pm? Also, what is the best way to get there. We will be able to make use of any carpool lanes if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I would say that you should expect to drive 1.5 hours to get to Disneyland at that time. You need to stay in the carpool lanes as much as possible because traffic will be heavy.

When you get to the end of the 105 freeway, go to Sepulveda, which will take you right to the airport, and go in the lane for arrivals.

You need to leave about an hour and a half to be on the safe side...may be a litte less becuase he's your dad, and he'll wait if you need him to!

You are going against traffic at 5PM. I do this drive all the time. It shouldn't take more than 45-60 minutes. Take I-5 from Disneyland to the 91, take the 91 to the Harbor, take the Harbor to the 105. The entire ride is in carpool lanes and absent construction or an accident, you'll be flowing at at least 50-60MPH most of the time. The only time you'll hit a little traffic is on the last part on the 105.

LA traffic is terrible, but this is one situation where it wont be bad at all.
