Hi

I've booked the 7.15 Hoop Dee Doo show and would like to know how long it will take to get there?

We are staying at OKW and will probably drive to the MK car park, then tram to the transportation hub, then boat to Wilderness Lodge, does anyone know how long I should allow for this journey?

Also how close to the boat dock is the hall where the show is?

TIA :thumbsup2

Hi paul,
firstly, and i'm sure it was a little mistake, but make sure you go to Ft Wilderness and not the Wilderness Lodge;) the boat plan sounds really good. the boat dock pulls up basically 20 metres from Pioneer Hall, where Hoop de Doo is. The only problem may be is that MK will charge you for parking, unless you already drove to a park that day, so if you do, keep your parking ticket they gave you displayed on the dash and they will let you straight through.

lets work this out roughly: car park to TTC, 10 minutes. Monorail or boat to MK, allow 20 to 25 minutes, maybe 30 if the monorail has to stop as it often does, could be a lot faster, but worst case scenario. then another 30 minutes to get the boat to Ft Wilderness, so you allow for waiting for boat and other stop.
worst case scenario it could take an hour, but i reckon more likely would be about 40 minutes.

You could just drive to Fort Wilderness and park in the front car park and then take a bus to the other end of the campground. You need to get to the "settlement", and there are 3 different routes, orange, purple and yellow and any of these buses will take you there, they just go round the campsite differently.

If you are doing it from the MKI would allow yourself plenty of time as lots of people use the boat and you might not get on the first one. I would be giving myself 1 1/2 hours. When you get to hoopdedoo you check in and get your photo done so you will have things to do. If you arrive to early its nice just to wander about or sit on the beach.

Hoop de doo is really good and you'll have a great time:thumbsup2

Hi, Thanks for the replies, I have been putting Wilderness Lodge on all my planning notes :scared1: so thank you for the nudge to Fort Wilderness! It would be embaressing if the person doing all the planning took them to the wrong place!!!

I did consider driving there but thought I liked the sound of the boat trip pirate:

WDW always say "give yourselves at least 1 hour to get between resorts" and I agree. If you hit everything right - monrail to MK arrives just when you need it, an empty boat sitting waiting to take you to Ft Wilderness, all the better, but best to leave plenty of "travel" time to ensure you don't miss the show. ;)

Just make sure MK is open late enough to be able to do the return trip!

Also on the the return lots of people are waiting for the boat back to MK but you can get the resort launch to the Contemporary and either walk to MK (if you are going there) or get the monorail back to the TTC. :thumbsup2

When we went, from POFQ we took the bus to MK then boat across, took us about 1hour . If i was to go again i would either Drive, or take a bus to Ft Wilderness, rather than take the boat, although it was nice. There is plenty of buses after the show waiting to take people to either resorts .
