How long to get membership card?

I should be closed on my BCV contract by the end of next week, and I know it takes some time to get into the system and get your "stuff." I'm leaving for Disney on May 4, and I'm planning to upgrade a 10-day MYW base ticket to a DVC AP when I get there. I can't imagine I'll have a membership card in hand by the time I go, and am wondering if I can just give Guest Services (or wherever I upgrade the ticket) my membership number. I hope I'll at least be able to get the number by phone before I leave.

It took us at least a month to get our DVC membership cards in the mail. You might call and see what your options are if you don't have your cards.

I forgot to add that we did get paper membership cards with our papers that came. We bought through Disney so we got the planning book along with all the papers we had to sign and return. There was a folder that had a plastic pocket with temp cards in it.

At the very least, you can go over to the saleS center at SSR and get a temporary membership card. It's not likely you'll get your "real" card by early May.

Head towards Downtown Disney and watch for the OKW/SSR signs.

You can also take a bus from BCV to DD and either walk or take a bus to SSR from there. (You can do the same thing by going to any park too.)

we closed 2/13 thru Timeshare Store, a wonderful expewrience I might add, and received our member number very quickly so we could make reservations.
Haven't gotten our cards yet and I hope we get them real soon. We're going down on May 1st.
Can't wait!!!

I closed on my resale contract around 2/2/09. Was in the system by 2/7/09 when I added on points at BLT and was able to make a reservation that day using my developer points.

I received my membership cards this week. So, it took just over 3 weeks from closing date to receiving the cards.

If you are not leaving until May, I see no reason when you should not have your cards by then!

We have added on at BLT, then had the paperwork done over to add more pts after the increase.
But no card.
We're also going in May & I want to get APs w/ the DVC discount.
Can I do that w/just my Mem#? or do I need the card?
