How long to experience Flights of Passage with FP+?

We have a FP+ For FOP and I read somewhere it still takes about 45 mins to experience the ride with a FP, is this accurate? Like from the time you scan your band till you hit the gift shop at the end? We have a dining reservation soon after the fastpass and if the ride takes that long we'll have to move the dining reservation (which is fine, FOP is more important!)

No. From the FP FAQ, Post #2:
- It is rare for any FP wait at any normally-operating attraction to exceed 15-20 minutes. This includes the most popular or lowest capacity attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

We rode it once and it was right at 30 min. DH and I rode separately and traded off staying with our son asleep in the stroller. DH tapped in at exact start of FP+ window. I waited abut 30 minutes then I tapped in for my turn when he was back.

Normally it’s 30 minutes from tap to gift shop. Out of the 6 times we rode it there was one time where it was about an hour. Must have hit the FP line at a bad time... it was really backed up. So it’s all luck. I would recommend entering the line at exactly 5 minutes before your window starts. You’ll be able to beat everyone else with the same time. Come to think of it the only time we got held up was when we came in the middle of our window.

This is certainly the longest wait of any FP+...and a lot of it isn't due to the large number of FP+ holders...the wait from the first FP+ tap to merging of with standby isn't much longer even when crowded with FP+ than a typical popular ride...it is after merging that things slow down. that is just the ride design...go through this door, watch a 5 minute preshow, go through the next door, watch a 5 minute preshow. I get it, it is all about making it "seem" like you aren't in line anymore...but it is still a wait.

My wife and I went separately this past summer. Her whole FP+ experience took about 40 minutes from the time she scanned in until she was in the giftshop at the end. It was more like 30 minutes for me.

They really overdid the pre-shows for FoP. I guess the first time it’s cool but it’s very obvious the second time and beyond that it’s simply a way to make you wait longer. They did everything they can to extend it too... seems like things are repeated 5x just to milk the wait.

My group took 40 minutes, but they said they had to keep doing instructions over and over in one of the rooms? I missed it, I was sick. :(

It seemed to take forever, but it was actually 45 minutes AFTER we scanned our FP.

The backup came after we merged; those lines were backed all the way up so we stood for a good while. Then, the two pre-shows take a lot of time. We have only ridden it once but the first room seemed to be "stuck" - we were in there awhile and it kept repeating itself. The kids in the room ended up sitting down (and I was tempted to, too, if I thought I could have gotten back up gracefully!).

I wish there was a fast track through the pre-shows ;)

We rode this past Thursday and Friday morning with FP. Probably about 30 minutes or so on Thursday, and 20-25 or so on Friday. You scan in, then a bit of a walk, then you wait in line, then you go through a pre-show area, then another shorter pre-show area, then you get to ride. Certainly longer than any other FP I've experienced.

15 minutes from when you are being genetically matched you will be back out front. The wait from the time scan your magic band till time youre being genetically matched can vary but it's usually about 5-10 minutes.

Our time was 25 minutes one time and 40 minutes the other time because they had technical difficulties and one theater was not working. We spent longer than normal in the room where you are genetically matched. The time was from the point we scanned our MBs to when we exited.

Rode it twice two weeks ago. First time was about 25 minutes, all worked fine, standby was 240 minutes at that day. Next time we already had finished second pre-show as theater broke down. They had us exit the 2 pre-show areas where we came in and then we entered first pre-show again on a different theater. Took us about 15 additional minutes to do both pre-shows again. All in all about 45 minutes. standby was 140 minutes that day.

By the time of the WDW 50th anniversary and all the new attractions being planned are open, including major additions to HS and new tier 1 experiences for EPCOT, they'll be a need to have a separate entry for FP+ wait times along with the regular wait times for rides.
