How long to allow at the Typhoon Lagoon (two adults)?

We have some leftover pluses and we were thinking of checking out Typhoon Lagoon for our trip. Apparently it will not open until 10 a.m. while we are there. How long should we allow? Will we "tire" of it after a couple of hours - say by noon or 1:00 p.m.? :confused3

We went while on our honeymoon and stayed about 3 hours and that was perfect. It was in early October so it was too crowded. If you're visiting at a busier time of year, the lines might be longer and you might need to stay a little longer. Otherwise, I'd say 3 hours is great. Have fun!

We usually spend 4 -5 hours. I like to do the slides and DH likes to float in Castaway Creek for several complete loops. We probably stay longer than most.

With the park opening at 10:00, we would stay until 3 or 4. There is a lot to do there and you can spend so much time in the wave pool. Don't forget to swim with the sharks, when you need a break grab a cool frozen drink, curl up with a book and have a little snooze. It is so nice to spend the day like that and then head back to your room for a shower, then out for a nice dinner and evening. What a perfect day!!!

This totally depends upon...

Whether or not you like to lay out in the sun for extensive periods of time (or if you can find a shady spot if you don't);
How much you enjoy swimming;
Whether or not you are interested in the water slides;
Are you typically an all-day at the pool or beach kind of couple - or not?

DH and I usually arrive shortly after opening (10:00 AM typically) and leave around 2:00 PM or so.

I imagine we'll want to do the slides and the shark pool. A lap or two around the lazy river. Maybe an hour or so laying out.

Thanks for your responses!

kpm - I hope you mean it wasn't too crowded for early October? That's when we'll be there!

We stayed about 2 hours, maybe 3, when we went to BB in May - diff park, but DH is the only one who does anything other than the lazy river and lay out. It was hot and I fade fast in the heat.

I know others make it an all-day affair but we just can't.

If you get there as soon as the park opens. Head straight for the biggies and save the wave pool and lazy river for the afternoon when it's crowded, you should be able to get everything done by 2pm.

Since it is just 2 adults, the best place to park your belongings is at the new Crush and gusher. It's close to the lockers and rest room. There are many chairs. I can't remember seeing much shade there. There are only a few trees there. Ride Crush and gusher as soon as you can. Then head to Shark reef, then Humunga Cowabunga and the Storm slides. Take the mountain path over to the tube slides. Then take the lazy river back to your belongings and eat lunch by shark reef (closest food area to your belongings). By this time the crowds should be there, so do the wave pool and lazy river. Go home when tired.

I do not recommend the area of Crush and gusher for those with children. This area only has a small wading area by the slide. There are no splashing fountains or other things to keep the children's interest.

I also don't recommend this area for those looking for shade. If you are an adult and looking for shade, look by shark reef. There are several shaded spots with roofs here.

If we want to camp by Crush & Gusher, which way do we head when we enter the Park? TIA

Oops...sorry...forgot to proofread :blush: No, it was NOT crowded...we were there Sept. 27-October 7 and the crowds were really manageable and the weather was great...we were lucky to have missed the hurricanes...hope you have a wonderful trip :wizard:

I was thinking about going there myself this year. I haven't been to a Disney water park since River Country in 1986. What do people do with coolers? I won't have anybody available to watch it. Are the lockers big enough for a small cooler?

Thanks!!!! VERY HELPFUL INFO!! :cool1:

We went on our honeymoon last year, we got there for opening about 9am and about 1-2pm there was an almighty thunderstorm, but perfect timing, that was just long enough for us. Go with the flow. This year we are taking my mum and dad and plan on staying about half a day as we have an AR at Le Cellier in Epcot for 6.30pm.

If you enter the bathroom at the lockers, and walk straight through the bathroom, you'd end up at crush n gusher area...or just walk around it.

The lockers could hold a 6 pack cooler. The lockers are small. The big ones aren't that much bigger than the small ones. We get a small and fit ds size 10 sneakers and ds size 8. Our change if clothes and that's it. When we bring a cooler, we just plop it down on the ground or a table and leave it there unattended.

Thanks, lovethattink! That's really helpful. I've got to make sure I have enough room for my gigantic bottle of sunblock. I was thinking of packing a sandwich or something, but I think I'll keep it to a couple of cans of soda.

If I want to go around the end of July ( I know, it will be crowded to the MAX), but would like to go later on in the day, what would be a good time?

I know the parks stay open til around 7:00pm in the summer....What time do people start to LEAVE?

Thanx Much! Sounds like a great place to grab a couple chairs for the day.

When we have gone just the two of us, we are usually ready to go after about 3 hours. :)
