Update- my guide called me back this evening and let me know that I should expect to get my points by June, or maybe a little earlier. She seemed quite certain.

What a difference from the guy I talked to a couple weeks ago when my guide wasn't available- "Nope, no inventory- we almost never get any. Sure you don't want to buy SSR?"

HI all.. Do have to pay cash/credit card for your add on points... Can you add the cost onto an existing contract and how much do you have to put down? Thanks!

 

[Synonymous]

They want you to authorize $500 on your credit card to hold the points when they come in. It is charged when the points are available. If you add points during the same use year, it will be on your original contract. Otherwise, they are different contracts and you can't combine them for reservations.

Right now they're charging $89/pt and they want at least 10% down.

We just added on at BWV & the deposit was 20%. They require a credit card on file to add on. When the points come in, they charge it for $500. Then, the remainder of the 20% deposit is due within 14 days........

The payments are seperate from any other mortgage that you may have with them, although they do match your payment date (1st or 15th of the month).

Got my call 2/15. What a nice Valentine's present
I got 30 Feb. VWL points

My add-ons for the past 12 months....
3/04 called for 25-50 BCV points Feb - got 45 immediately
6/04 called for 150 BCV points any use year,
............got them then next month 7/04 (Dec. use year)
11/04 called for 100 VWL - got them an hour later - Dec. use year
2/05 called for 30 VWL (Dec or Feb) - got them 3 days later

My guide Byron said that it's pure luck that I got my points so easily, I think it's because he's so great

When I added on last week, nothing was ever mentioned to me about deposits, just that they wanted a credit card number and when the points became available they would just automatically process the request and charge the credit card that they had on file.

We were on the fence as to whether we were going to pay in cash or finance them....

So, For the time being, we're financing our points. If we were going to pay in cash, then the $500 would have held them until they received the balance from me or charged the balance on the card.....(That's how my guide explaind it anyway)

The remainder of our 20% deposit is due on 02/23

That is wonderful!!!! And, I agree...I think Byron must be the "magic add-on machine"!! I have seen many posts where he seems to "get the points" for people!!

Actually, I believe the amount of deposit depends on how many points you're buying. I think if it's at least 100 you can do 10%, under that is 20%.

Yeah!!!!

My guide called today and told me that I got my points!!! I was put on the waitlist on 1/31/05 for 50 VWL Feb UY. DH is laughing at me b/c when we bought our first DVC last fall, I told him I didn't want more than 175 points. Now we have 220 total! We haven't even been to VWL but after reading the boards it seemed like a great place for us to stay b/c we have 2 little boys.

My new guide called me yesterday to introduce himself and told me that it probably wouldn't be long before I got my add-on b/c he said add-ons of 50 points or less don't take very long.

Our guide said that DVC was in the process of buying back several contracts and he felt we would have them by the end of the month. Seeing SylviaL's post gives me great hope that he is right.
