How long should I wait to get a quote?

I know all the TA's are busy with the new packages but how long is reasonable to wait after requesting an online quote?

I sent in my request and it took a week to get a quote (received jan 6) but it wasn't at all what I wanted and seemed like they hadn't read my comments at all. I emailed my requests again on the 7th and still haven't gotten the new quotes (got an email acknowledging my requests tho). Is this normal right now or bad service?

Well I requested an online quote to Dreams Unlimited almost a week ago and still haven't heard anything from them (other than an automated email when I first submitted it). I was hoping to get a better quote from them than Disney, but I guess they must be too busy?

Don't think I will be doing any business with them in the near future.

If you still haven't heard anything from Dreams, I would contact them again. I have had several contacts since the first of the year with them and all of them have been timely. Maybe your request got lost in the system or something?? I'd double check.

I use Dream Come True Vacations, and I usually get a quote in 3 hours or so (sometimes much quicker!), occasionally it takes a little longer, but never longer than a day.

Turnaround at Dreams Unlimited Travel is usually very fast. These past two weeks were a challenge, however, with the switch to an entirely new Disney booking system. During that time, the on-line booking department saw delays as long as 72 hours. Things seem to be back to normal now, however.

If you have a request from that long ago, I encourage you to email reservations@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com right away. It should never take that long to process a quote and there may be another variable causing the delay (wrong email address, email server problem, etc).

Also, depending on what email server you are on, the quote could be coming back as "spam" and is being sent to your trash folder. Often times, email that has a web-link in the content of the message will be sent to the trash folder as "spam". It happens to me all the time actually. So, check that out, too.

I hope this helps!

Did you notice the disclaimer that stated that due to Disney's reservation system being "upgraded" that quotes are not coming back as quickly?

It's hardly the fault of the agency that Disney's system is screwed up.

You should have heard something by now. I know when my brother was shopping for rates, his AOL liked to put the emails in the SPAM Folder. Did you check there? Hotmail is just as bad, so maybe give them another address?

Okay, when I submitted the online ressie it informed me to NOT CONTACT DREAMS UNLIMITED FOR A SECOND TIME IF I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING DUE TO LONG WAIT TIMES. (Paraphrasing here). That is why I am still waiting.

About my email- I am a web designer and host my own email, etc. so I know it's working fine. Additionally, I do not have the anti-spam functioning with my anti-virus (I hate how it weeds out proper emails).

Maybe I should contact them...

I'd email the reservations account. Or, PM me and I'll look into it for you.

It seems like even with the higher then normal activity and computer problems with the new system that this is still too long to have to wait for a quote. To clarify this TA is not DU, I didn't find this board or the DU site until after I requested the quote but I'm still under no obligation since I haven't booked anything. Given that I also asked if one of their services is PS 3 times now and still have not received an answer or personalized service I was expecting it's time to consider filling out a new quote form with someone else. Wish me luck.

I asked for a quote from Small World Vacations on Jan 2nd and recieved the info and booked the package Jan 4th. My TA did have some problems the 1st and second day but was able to talk to them the 3rd try. If you haven't heard back from them try someone else.

I just received a response from DU. To be fair, Marla said they emailed me awhile ago with questions and never heard back. I guess we can chalk the email to being lost in cyberland...

I'm glad she did get back with me. Sometimes these things happen.
