How long should I wait before changing reservation?

We have a one-bedroom at BCV confirmed for December 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and are wait-listed for December 3 and 6. If the days don't come through, I want to try to get another resort for December 3-6th.

My question is how long should I wait before switching part of our stay to another resort? The 7 month window will be coming up at the beginning of May. Should I do it then? Or do you think I can wait and still get a one bedroom somewhere else? I'd like to stick it out, but I don't know if I should take the risk that everything will be sold out. What would you do?

At 7 mths fill in your missing dates at one of the less in demand resorts, and remain on the waitlist as a backup.

Let's say I make a reservation for 2 days at OKW. If the waitlist days come through, will they cancel OKW first? My concern is that these will be booked with borrowed points and I don't want to borrow for the "backup" days and then also borrow if the waitlist comes through. Am I making any sense? Hopefully someone will be able to decipher my thoughts.

I think I get what you mean..... maybe

book at 7 months, somewhere that's available for those 2 days, then waitlist for your missing days at BCV and then they'll just switch the days - (OKW is less points though) I'd have them call you.....

or

switch the whole ressie at 7 months so there's no fear of moving in the middle of your trip and then waitlist for the whole ressie where ever you'd like to stay

good luck :goodvibes

Yes - have MS call you when (that sounds better than if, right? LOL) the BCV waitlist comes through. Then you can tell the CM that you want to cancel the OKW day and use the points for the BCV day that came through.

Best wishes -
