How long should I set aside for world showcase?

When we go in july, how long should we allow if we're not eating or shopping? First time dragging the kids around all the countries. Wanted to leave enough time to explore without getting bored...

We took our 3 DD (8,6,4) to the WS for the first time last year. They enjoyed meeting some of the characters in the countries and painting the bears in the countries. Frozen wasn't open yet.

They weren't interested in shopping. Probably took about two hours for us to do it all. I will say the meet and greets in the countries are very easy to do and usually short wait lines.

It really is up to the child and what they like each country has something, most have movies that explain that country, some ( 2) have rides.

If you do the movies, and spend 10 minutes looking around ( there are 9 of these) that would be 180 minutes ( if the move take 10 minute,) and do not forget about the live interveners out side like the drums at China or the flags at France ( I think) or the singer American.

I would really plane on a water noon for this ( 3 or 4 hours maybe more ) if you get done you can go do some thing in the WS or maybe back to your hotel to swim

If just browsing and not eating or shopping..which is what we usually do, we see the WS in about 2 hours.

Walk around every country, check out the shops, on to the next country. Of course you could spend 5+ hours in the showcase if you wanted to though

I spend hours there a day, but don't have kids, so I guess its about what you're wanting. I literally spend a few hours a day per trip there.

First time we did the WS with our kids, 7 and 10 at the time, I didn`t think we would spend a lot of time in WS but we bought them the passport at the first country we went to (Mexico) and then we went to the kidcot station in that country to have it signed and they were hooked. They loved it, wanted to visit kidcot in each country and we ended up returning another day because we didn`t have time to finish and we`d been in WS a few hours already. A couple of years later we went back and they decided they did not want to redo the passport but by then they had a better idea of what the countries were all about and spend more time in each of the shops and also just walking around to learn about stuff from each country. It`ll really depend on what your kids age are and how interested they are in learning about the countries.

You can spend any amount of time you want there it is really up to the specific family.

We drink. Everywhere. And Eat. Our trips typically start around 11:30 and last through Illuminations. To each their own.

I could easily dedicate a day to World Showcase. But ultimately, it depends on what you and your family like. I would at least afford it an afternoon if you have the time-especially since there's KidCot stops at each country where your kid can color in a Duffy and interact with the CMs there, if they're interested in that. It gives you the time to take your time and take it easy.

it really depends what you want to do, and how much you want to spend time looking around in each country. Next year DH and I are going for a long weekend without DD, and spending 2 days only doing Epcot so we can take our time, enjoy the food and drinks, and not worry about keeping our 8 year old entertained.

Our first trip to WDW was when DS was 7, and we were at Epcot from rope drop to about 6pm. He loved the World Showcase so much that we spent more time there than in the rest of the park. This year, he has requested two Epcot days instead of two Magic Kingdom days so we can dedicate more time to each country, and to the food!

Interesting question. World Showcase is probably my favorite place in any of the parks now but when I was a kid it was dreadfully boring. Some things that are helpful to make your kids like it more:

- Fast Pass for Frozen and ride the Mexican ride
- Kid-cot fun stops
- The Fineus and Ferb (spelling right?) adventure game that they have for all the countries. It's so fun and gets you to see details of WS that you would otherwise
miss. I've played it on my own!
- What's they're favorite type of food? Stop by those countries for a snack!

I can spend an hour in Mitsukoshi on its own. If you child likes Nintendo/Pokemon/Hello Kitty/Yokai Watch they can easily spend a decent chunk of time looking at everything there.

We spent a whole day in summer 2013 just walking around enjoying the "street performances". Seems like every pavilion had one.
The kids were dancing to a Beatles cover band behind the British pavilion, were enthralled by the drummers in Japan (while enjoying a Kakigori), danced and sung along with the Mariachi band in Mexico, rolled with laughter at the "chef and waiter" show outside the french restaurant, watched in amazement as the statues came to life in Italy, watched the Jaminators??? - love them but hard to describe, essentially a drum band that are dressed like janitors but start playing music by banging on all the garbage cans and almost anything else they could find. There was more but I can't remeber all the details (have to go back and look at the pics)
A few snacks and treats at different pavilions while on our travels.
Had lunch in Mexico and a late supper in behind the pub in Britain while watching Illuminations.
An amazingly GREAT day

Our kids have loved it since first trip. Hard to calculate, if you like to drink, make a day of it, theres plenty to keep them occupied.
