How long past reservation time do you wait at H&V?

Hello, all recent eaters at H&V!

We have an 11:35 am lunch at H&V and I am trying to plan our day after that.

Will we likely be able to make the 1 pm Beauty and the Beast show, or is that too optimistic?

I think we could do it if we were seated right at 11:35. What are the odds of that?

Slim to no chance of being seated on time. I've done it twice in the last year and we waited over about 15-20 minutes both times.

The characters move rather slowly compared to other character dining AND they have a dance party every 15 minutes with some of the characters. I would say the character rotation alone takes 45-50 minutes and that's from when it first hits you.

I would not plan on the 1pm Beauty and the Beast unless you want to rush or maybe be late to the show.

Agree with previous comment. I would arrive very early before your reservation. You stand in very long line at check in desk. Then you have to wait to be called inside Characters take a while before going to all the tables.

I have had a difficult time trying to schedule all of the shows at HS. Because of the HS show schedule and our impossible-to-get-another-Fantasmic-lunch-ADR, we have to cut it close for something.

I moved our A&E fastpass to 11 am (was originally at 4, but that made it impossible for us to see LMA since there are only two shows per day (one at 1:20, which would likely conflict with our lunch), and one at 4:30.

I think we can still make our 11:35 H&V since A&E starts at 11 and lasts 30 minutes. It is close to A&E. I don't like making such close plans, but I do want to see all the shows.

An hour! We had an 11:15 resvervation we checked in at 1045 because as we walked around we saw the line for check in getting longer, we were seated at 12:30 and finished eating and sat at the table until we saw all characters... They stopped rotation 3 times while we were there to have a dance party... We left there probably close to 230 300...

I will NEVER eat there again... That was a waste of time and money! We did it for the F! Tickets and then F! was rained out!

That's funny how random it could be. We go to H & V every year for the past 8 years and I have NEVER waited more than 5 minutes past. Then again that may change this year going thanksgiving week:rotfl:

That sounds terrible! 3 1/2 out of your day to eat lunch . . .

I sure hope that doesn't happen to us.

We had a similar experience with 1900 Park Fare. Seated an hour past our reservation time, then the monorail broke down when we were trying to get back to MK to get back to our resort. We walked all the way to the ferry, and when it finally came, it filled up, and the captain said "Sorry folks! Last ferry of the night!" So we had to walk back to the monorail, which was finally working again. Terrible night.

These late ressie seatings do throw off plans . . .

They definitely do not seat on time, so don't plan on that! As others have said, the characters move like molasses. It took more than an hour to see them and a manager actually had to bring us to Sofia because we had already eaten and paid and she was a good 15-20 mins away. If we had waited for her it would have been a 90 min lunch, (not counting 30 mins to be seated), which by the way the food is awful. I mean. Really.bad. Also it does not matter if you get there earlier than your ressie time. You are seated by reservation time NOT check in time at all restaurants, so it is pointless to check in early!

So if we show up right at 11:35 or even 11:40, we will still be seated around the same time as if we show up at 11:20?

This was last year, but I believe we waited well over an hour. We actually had breakfast reservations and by the time we got seated the buffet was switched over to lunch. We did get a toy story fp out of it but I will never go back there again.

Hi,

We did a late breakfast 2 weeks ago, a 10:15 reservation, and we were seated on time. Our waitress told us that it would be approx. 75 minutes for all 4 characters to come around. We ended up getting out of there at about 11:30 and my daughter saw all the characters and joined in their dance party a few times as well.

We really liked it!

Well, to update, they must be doing better because we were seated by 11:40 and done by 12:45. Caught the 1:20 LMA show. Enjoyed H&V. Kids had fun meeting characters and dancing. Food was fine.
