I know that, from the Dolphin/Swan, you have to walk through EPCOT via the International Gateway and through the park to get to the EPCOT monorail station...right? If that's the case, roughly how long of a walk is it? A mile? More?

I have walked it several times, I would think it less than a mile. And it is a very pretty walk along the canal, so enjoy!

probably about that i would guess 15 min walk plus depending on how fast you are going and how many people are with you. where are you needing to go?

I know it's 1 mile from Beach Club...and it is a great walk through Epcot!

We were thinking of making an ADR at either the Poly or Contemporary. I know you can take a shuttle bus to the MK and then take the monorail from there. I thought this might be a nice alternative way to get there (from the Swan/Dolphin).

You could also take the boat to DHS and a bus to your ADR.

You could also take the boat to DHS and a bus to your ADR.

This is likely the fastest, as you could walk to DHS if you didn't want to wait for the boat, thus only having to wait once for a bus.

If you walk through to the EPCOT monorail station, you still have to switch to the resort monorail (so you have to walk a mile, then wait twice for transportation)

If you take the bus to MK, then the monorail, that's still waiting twice for transportation, though it does cut out the walking.

When we stay at the Swan/Dolphin we use DS as our transfer station alot!

You certainly could walk from the hotel to the Epcot Monorail station...I am assuming you have park hoppers because I believe you need to cut through the park and enter...someone will correct me if I"m wrong....

The boat to the studios is the first stop and then it's a rather short walk over to the busses without entering DS and then you could take the bus to the CR.

My second choice would be to take the bus to the MK and then walk over to the monorail....actually not second could be considered tied for first.

My third choice would be to walk through Epcot.

We do this often from the Boardwalk. However coming from the Swan/Dolphin, I would plan on at least 20-30 mins to get to the Epcot monorail station. You could problably do it faster, but that would be a fast walk while trying to avoid the crowds in Epcot who have a tendancy of stopping in front of you. And there is always the chance of being distracted by something in Epcot, such as the street actors in UK, or Off Kilter in Canada, or even the ducks at the Beach Club. And then you have to add the time waiting for the monorail, and the trip to the TTC. And then at the TTC you have to change to the resort monorail. So i personally would alot 60 mins to get to your ADR.

Walking or catching the boat to the DHS and boarding the bus to the resort there or the bus to the MK and then the resort monorail is significantly faster.

But as I said earlier we do the Epcot route often.... but then again my DH is a monorail junky.

All the above suggestions are right on. If you end up eating at Contemporary, you could take the bus from Swalphin to the MK and then walk to Contemporary from the bus station...

If your ADR is at the Poly, you can take the monorail from Epcot and walk to the Poly from the TTC. If your ADR is at the Contemporary, you can take the resort bus to MK and walk to the Contemporary from the bus stop.

If it's from beach club, probably 1 mile and if you try to walk it will take 15-20 minutes. :)

Even if you take the Epcot monorail to TTC, you still would need to take the resort monorail to get to CR, so you'd be looking at three modes of transportation.

If you are going to CR, it woudl probably be fastest to take the Swan bus to MK then walk.

If you are going to Poly, it is kind of a toss up between taking the Swan bus to MK then the resort monorail to Poly (probably using the MK stop, to use teh CR stop you have ttake an elevator inside CR) - or - taking the boat to HS (or maybe walking over to HS) then picking up the Poly bus from there.
This second methiod is probably the fastest - if you just miss the boat, youcould walk to HS (assuimng no oppressive heat). From HS, I am pretty certain there is botha bus to TTC and a bus to the Poly. I don't know how close the two bus stops are (bus stops change periodically anyways), but if you just miss one bus you could hop on the other.

In any case, the speed is sort of random, it depends how long you have to wiat for transportation at each place. The monorail ride between Epcot and TTC is pretty long, and a number of times when we've gone on it, we've had delays.

If you want something faster and easier, there is almost always a taxi in front of the Swan. You can always call for one.

Yes. Both.

The "Poly" bus usually stops at the Contemporary first, then Poly, then Grand Floridian.

not necessarily..........

In the times I've stayed at the poly we never stopped at the CR on a bus. We've been on a route with the WL/FtW/GF, GF/SOG, TTC/GF, and most times just poly/GF.

Always check the buses. They sometimes change which resorts are on the route at different times of the day.

If you were to walk to Epcot, it would be about 8-10 mins to the Intl Gateway from S/D. Go through bag check and turnstiles....another 5 mins. Walk to the front of Epcot..about 20 mins. I have made it in about 17 mins but I was moving quickly. You will be going against the stream of people.
Then, it can take 15 mins or so for the monorail to get there, then 10 mins to get to TTC. Then, either walk to the Polynesian from TTC, about 10 mins via the pathway, or transfer to the resort monorail...again, could be about 10 mins. If headed to the CR, stay on the resort monorail until you get to CR, takes about 20 mins or so. Or, take the express monorail to MK and walk to the CR, about 8 mins walk on top of the wait/ride on monorail.

If it were me...I would take the bus to MK from the S/D. Then, either walk to the CR, via the sidewalk that runs directly underneath the monorail line. Or, take the monorail or boat to the Polynesian. Depends on where you decide to eat.
But, I would never walk through Epcot just to take the monorail to the TTC...way too much work and time.
