How long of a waitlist when purchasing through DVC

Last thursday we decided to purchase 200 points for the Boardwalk through resale from DVC. We decided to choose 3 months we would be happy with as our use year month and are now on a waitlist. How long should we expect to wait until we get the call that the points are in?

We waited 2 days for 75 points......There's another thread on this board about Disney wait lists for purchasing points......It will be a great place to watch....

I am also on the waitlist for BWV for 150 points. I choose any use year to try to get them quicker. I have been on the waitlist since 2/7/05. We will see how long it takes...

You should call them back. I was offered 151 points at BWV on 2/11 to buy. This was around 1:00 PST. HTH

Strange? I talked to my guide just that very afternoon and she said nothing yet??? maybe someone between you and I on the waitlist took them up on the offer......I hope that is the case.

Tammy...call your guide. Ask them how many points are available at EACH use year. If they tell you they don't know...they are lying!! I would call EVERY day and check. Inventory does change everyday. I am wondering how much your guide is really keeping an eye on this for you. Amyup did not say she was on a waitlist...maybe she just called in.

Keep on them about this!! I suspect a little "sour grapes" over SSR. Sorry to be so pessimistic...but, BWV points come in every day!!! With any UY...you should be able to get them VERY soon.

I have been wanting to buy some BWV points from Disney for the last month. Ther have been at least one decent contract coming up a month.

I wanted some BWV points and was willing to pay the extra $ to get them directly from Disney. I got a very clear feeling that my Disney salesman "Rafael" wasn't interested in selling me anything but Saratoga or OKW. I finally asked him if there was a lower commission on BWV and he told me yes.

I spoke with him Monday night about BWV. He said there were 200 points available August or Sept, I can't remember. I told him I would buy them. He said he'd call me in the morning. As of Saturday I still hadn't heard back. I read on this (or another forum) that some one (not on a waiting list) called out of the blue on Thursday and bought them. I was ticked to say the least. I called Disney and switched salesmen. The new guide told me about the Feb points. By the time he called me, I had already bought 300 from the TTS.

200 last week and 300 this week, I hope they love me at TTS.

If you have some flexability, you shouldn't have to wait long.

i wish i had a list of every guide for DVC with their phone numbers, I would call each one till someone is willing to sell me a contract. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so distressing.

Beca, If you have a good number to call, please PM me also! I have called and called my guide and she either ignores me or tells me she will let me know. I do not know what actual date she put me on the "list" or if she ever did! I am so frustrated with her and want to call someone else.

Is it "our guide"...who watches out for add on's...then snatches them up for his client??

Somehow...I thought it was the "big computer in the Disney sky", which records, matches and processes given info, based on when placed on WL, UY and Pts. ???????

Does anyone have any insight???

Senecabeach, I'm with you! I thought with this "new system" that our guides were taken out of the picture. Computer, computer, computer . Something is so wrong! Funny how we all get different info from different guides. Thank god for the Disboards This is the place to turn when you need an answer to a question. I've decided (I think) to stop calling my guide about my add-on. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

With our recent BWV add-on, I gave our CC number to our guide & she submitted the request. Our points came in 2 days later & she was totally unaware that our request was filled.

The day we found out, I was calling to inquire about points at other sold out resorts. Our guide checked the computer to see what points they had available and saw that our that we had received our BWV points that morning.

So, it is up to the guide to submit the paperwork, then, it goes into the computer. Then the "big computer in the Disney sky" dishes out the points.....

Once the request is put in by the guide, they really have nothing more to do with it.....

Thanks Tink10 for the info. I do recall another Diser saying that they have been waiting since June 04...only to call @ a later date, to find out that their guide didn't put them into the "system".

I'm very uncomfortable not receiving and type of confirmation... I would think Disney would "do it better"??

My guide did also mention, in Jan, that his rumor mill said the price was going up shortly to $94. per point. Surely makes me wonder..if they are holding back some BC points...then again thats only my old sinister corporate mindset at work ???

I did talk to someone this morning at disney who said that it was computer generated. i STILLthink that I am being stiffed!!!! Waaaaaaaaaa!!!! I want my BWV...........

My guide told me she had no way of knowing where we were on the list as she just enters the info in the computer and when the points come in, we get them. I think she told me there were over 70 (?) guides (if I remember correctly) and if everyone of them called the add-on people everyday to see where different people would be on the list it would drive them crazy - hee hee. Makes sense to me. I wouldn't want 70 plus people calling me everyday wanting to know where each and everyone of my wait-list people were at on the list.
