How long of a drive from Sanford?

We are flying in to Sanford for the first time. I've been looking at the maps and trying to figure out the best route to the Magic Kingdom area. How long of a drive? Does anyone have opinions on which route is better? We are renting a car, but arriving close to 10pm.

Can't give you an actual route, but it took our towncar service about 50 minutes to get from Sanford to POR. Someone can give you the best route, I'm sure.

DH and I travel from Sanford AutoTrain station to Disney via Route 417. It is a toll road and costs about $4.50 in tolls each way, but it is much less congested than I-4 and well worth the cost. We have used this route the past 4 trips to disney. It takes close to an hour to get from Sanford to PO-R.

At that time of night you can go either way. It will take 10 minutes on Lake Mary Blvd to get to I4 and then about 40 minutes on I4 to Disney property. SR417 will take about the same amount of time but is all highway (Lake Mary Blvd is 4 lane roadway with many traffic lights and is about 8 miles from I4)

It is about $6.00 in tolls and make sure you have plenty of quarters as the ramps are exact change only.

I travel frequently from the airport (MCO) to Deltona and use SR417 exclusivly for the convenience (and I'm soooo cheap the buffalo's squeal)

I do however usually stick to I4 when going to Orlando from my house.

Thank you for all your replies!! I'm printing out these suggestions! My biggest worry will be heading back during the day. I think the toll roads might be a better idea so we don't get stuck in traffic.
