Just curious how far people go when driving...taking the train doesn't count...only the time/distance by car.
DH is job hunting as always and I am beginning to think we are spoiled by his 40 minute range (each way)
DH is checking out an opportunity but the neighborhood we like and the company are 75 minutes away drom each other and we are wonderiing if it is worth it. How do you guys do it? I am worried he will fall asleep, the wear/tear on the car..not to mention gas prices but to be in an area closer to the job is like night and day from where we live now...I just don't think we would be happy there. I guess if all the pieces don't fall into place you keep searching.
Why are your commutes so long....same reason or is traffic just that nasty?
We are really laboring over this decision.
Takes me about 5 minutes....I couuld never be a commuter, would drive me nuts to be in traffic or the train with all those people every day! I leave the house at 750 and am home by 355.
Right now, 10 minutes each way, although there is a rumor that we might be moving to Manhatten,(the job that is,not me ). If that happens, then my commute will be about 45 minutes. Im lucky that I work "off" hours (7PM-7AM), so that when everyone is going to work ,Im coming home . Karen
10 minutes max. I love being close to home as I can run home at lunch if needed. Used to do it a lot more. Now I just bring my lunch and cruise the net during my lunch hour.
Forty-five minutes if traffic isn't bad. If there are accidents or slow traffic, which seems to happen at least twice a week, then anywhere from one to two hours.
