how long is your daily driving commute?

35 mins for me....in town driving, no highway. I like it in the morning.....do some of my clearest thinking. On the way home though I wish it was shorter....want to get home, got stuff to DO!

10 minutes and I love it. I am almost exactly 6 miles from my job. When the weather warms up, I may try to ride my bicycle.

My old job was 45 in the am and about 1. 25 in the pm or longer. It was 44 miles, mostly highway.

I am looking for a new job in Indy and that is one of my "reguirements", shorter commute. DFiance thinks I am nuts and that most people would be happy with 45 - 1hour commute but he works out of the house and is spoiled.

The job I have an offer for is 23 miles and apporx 45 minutes with traffic, a little too long in my opinion. The job I want and hope to have an offer in by the end of the week is 11 miles and 25 minutes door to door at the end of the day with no highways. I like that.. :) Cross your fingers I'll get the offer.

In the morning about 40 - 45 minutes, on the way home an hour - 1 hr. 15 minutes, usually. A lot longer with bad weather of course. My 4 hour drive to work a couple of weeks ago was my worst drive ever.

I live 30 miles from work.

I hate it. When I can find a new job one of my requirements is that I want a half hour or less drive, I'm just sticking it out here until I can find that. I would be thrilled with 30 minutes or less!

My commute is not to work but I do take my son to a special school everyday. I drive 45 minutes there and back home twice a day. So, I drive 3 hours a day. I do feel sorry for my 21 month old who also has to tag along. Oh, the things we do for our children.

20 minutes - 30 if traffice is bad in the morning
30-40 to pick up DD on way home from work

30 miles that take me 55 minutes on average - and as others have said, there is usually an accident twice per week making it an hour and a half to work. Snow and random occurrences of stupidness make the commute over an hour at times. I took this job three years ago to get out of a two hour commute to downtown Boston so I am making progress getting back to the way I started my career with a two minute commute to the end of the street where I lived.

I listen to a lot of books on tape/CD and NPR incessantly.

Depends on the school I work at that day but 10 minutes max and that is in bad traffic.

DH is job hunting as always and I am beginning to think we are spoiled by his 40 minute range (each way)

I drive 4.5miles each way. 10 to 15 min ride with light traffic.

45 minutes in the morning and 35 at night. I used to dread it but now I am used to it.

It's a beautiful drive of about 10 minutes through rolling hills, with cows and wild turkeys along the way!

DH, on the other hand, drives about 45 minutes (25 miles) each way, on the freeway & through a tunnel. It's better than the 2 hour drive (each way!) he had early in our marriage.

If I go straight to work, it's about 4 minutes. If I drop DS off at school, 4 blocks the other way then it is about 7-10 minutes. I work only 10 blocks from home. DH is about 20-25 minutes depending on traffic in Atlantic City.
