We're going to BWV in Sept and the mousesavers newsletter has said that the slide will be closed (from 9/6 to 9/26). Another DISer called and was told that we would be able to use Storm Along Bay at BCV.

I was wondering, can we walk there?

We're VERY disappointed in the slide closure. My DS9 and DS4 were really looking forward to it. This will be our first time staying at BWV.

I really don't feel like loading everyone up and "pool hopping" to another resort. I don't like the thought of dealing with wet bathing suits in the car. But, if we can walk to Storm Along Bay, we'll do that.

Does SAB have a slide?

Thanks.

The pool at the Yacht and Beach club is the best on disney property. And they have the best slide too. Yes you can walk there it will probably take you anywhere from 3-8 minuets. you can also walk to epcot using the international gateway. You can also walk to MGM but that is kind of a hike closer to 15 min.

Well..............First, the walk to BC from BWV is about 5 or 10 minutes, an 1/8 of a mile approximately. Of course, you can always take one of the boats too. However, I suggest you either call MS or BC and ask about going over. The reason I say that is every time we visited BC, they always check resort ID, and issue a wrist band to the users of Stormalong Bay.

Dave - Since Luna Park is being rehabbed during the OP's stay, BWV & BWI guests will be allowed to use SAB. This has happened in similar situations in the past and there has been at least one report by a DIS member that this will be the case again. Believe they called the resort directly, but I am not positive on that.

Best wishes-

Wow, you guys are great. Thanks for all the info. I'm no longer disappointed, I'm sort of excited that we may get the chance to check out SAB. :bounce:

The slide show is awesome. Good info!!!!

For future planning purposes, WDW uses the off-peak times of the year to do their re-habs, for the most part. So while people can enjoy lower crowds, nice weather, etc, they can also expect to see many more attractions closed for refurbishment during those times.

These include pool and other renovations at the DVC and WDW resort locations.

Just didn't want you to be disappointed if you run into this sort of thing down the road during the "slow" times at WDW.

Enjoy your trip...SAB is a great pool! :)

Thanks for the info on the length of the walk. I'm at BWV next week, and was looking forward to daily trips to BCMarketplace for my gelato.
