How long is DAS wait?

So you have DAS, you get a return time and you are there. How long are you waiting in the DAS/LL line until you ride the ride? I know it likely varies per ride but give me an approximate and some examples. Are we talking 10 mins, 30 mins, walk on??

At Disneyland this past week, we had wait times ranging from less than 5 minutes to about 30 minutes. The 30 minute wait was Star Tours and it appeared that they had stopped loading into one of the 4 bays so I think that is was caused the delay. We canceled a DAS for Thunder Mountain because when we got there, the line just to get to the scanners was ridiculously long. Most wait times for us were probably the 10-15 minute range.

I agree with the pp most line are 10-15 range. With the every now and then longer wait holidays can be much longer

In Walt Disney World
10 minutes less than the posted wait time. This week was busy with Presidents Day. This is Saturday February 26th afternoon wait times
for a few attractions at Magic Kingdom.
You can get the app and search wait times and get an idea of how busy the parks are.

I think OP is asking how long in the LL once you return to ride

I'd love to here from someone who has been to Disneyland lately with a DAS. Heard some anecdotes recently that have made me nervous. Because if there is an hour standby wait, and you get the usual -10 minute return time, and you show up and the LL has a 45 min wait time, then you're looking at actually waiting as long or longer in some cases than if you had just done standby. But the DAS is given bc of difficulty waiting in lines...
I'm not sure what can be done about it. Are the LL waits longer now than with FP?
Last summer we did WDW in August, but there was no FP or Genie. The return lines were strictly DAS, VIP tours and recovery passes, so we zipped right on, most times. At least right up to the standyFP merge point. So don't really have a frame of reference

The goal to wait in the Fastpass Line after entering was 15 minutes or less and it appears the same goal for Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane.
A lot of things can cause variations, like a large number of people entering the line at the same time, a recent shutdown, a shutdown while you are in line, etc.

I used the DAS on 2/20 at Disneyland. Most waits were not too bad 10 minutes or so. The bad one was Smugglers Run. The LL was backed up out past the scanners. And it is a good bit of walking to get up to the front, so it was definitely about 25-30 minutes that we waited in that line. It would move in large chunks though. Peter Pan and Dumbo were pretty much instantaneous for us. Space we use the exit as we also have a wheelchair. We got on quickly, but have often had to wait for 2-3 rounds of the handicap car. I am sure the LL would be better on that one. Rise was about 10-15 minutes with the return time.

This is what I'm worried about. I just saw a pic of a reeeaaallly long line for the LL for Pirates on Twitter. I run into problems when lines get to the 30-minute range with my condition, so I'm a little concerned about this for my trip in a couple of weeks. I guess we'll just see how it shakes out.

I know that the length of the wait is a primary factor for so many using DAS. Also consider many of the LL queues are more open, so 30 minutes may be less stressful there than 30 minutes would be in a main queue. Not a 'works for everyone' comment, but might help some.

Also keep in mind that DAS Return Times have a start time, but they are valid until the park/attraction closes for the day. If the line looks long, you can hang out nearby, wait to enter the line until it goes down a little. The CM at the entrance can also often give you a pretty good idea of the actual wait.
And, sometimes the congestion is at the line entrance, but it clears up a bit into the line.

That happened to us last week at the Safari at AK. The Line extended past the entrance to the Lightning Lane and past the first turn inside the line when we got in to use our DAS - I snapped a picture of my watch for timing - it was 1:44pm. But, past that point, it cleared out and we were loaded into the tram by 1:50pm. That included fastening in her wheelchair so she could ride in it.
So, 6 minutes for a line we were pretty sure would be a 30 minute wait.

There is a very similar problem like this in Disneyland at a couple of rides, like Big Thunder Mountain, so this is a great tip whether someone is visiting WDW or Disneyland.
