How long is a wait list good for....

I have been wait listed for 2 days in February during President's week 2011. Will I be on the wait list for "as long as it takes" or do the wait list request only last 30 days or whatever length of time... and then I need to request to be wait listed again? Thank you for any help you can give me!

Your wait list will cancel 31 days prior to the start of your vacation. You can request that it stay in place until 7 days prior if you want.

I would only do this if the new reservation will take more points than your current reservation. If it takes less, then you want it to cancel at day 31 prior so you don't end up with holding points.

Once you reach a week before, you have to call and check for availability if you still want to try for the new room.

Thanks! That helps. Now I'm just going to be optimistic that once I'm at the 7 month window some reservations may switch and my days will become available!
