How Long In Between Your Disney Trips??

My wife does not have a love of Disney like I do - so I am pushing for once a year. Before our 10 day trip last year it was 5 years since we were there. Now at least we are going back again this year for 1 week.

She is in an all cash business and only takes one vacation a year. Whereas I get 4 weeks. Hopefully in the future we will be going twice a year for a minimum of 12 days each trip.

As far as the Beach goes, we did that 4 years in a row and it was never my cup of tea. I rather sit by a pool with a nice cold drink. I hated getting all sandy and I just never liked it. If you go to Disney - you can take it easy. There is no reason to kill yourself. We did that last year. We didn't see everything, but at least we were relaxed.

Stemikger,

I am like you. My kids and I could go 2-3 times a year. My wife is happy barely going once a year. When we have gone its usually for 3-4 nights. I did take my 2 DD's to Disney last November for 5 nights, wife stayed home with baby. But, I was able to convince her to go at the end of August for 6 nights. We are surprising the kids. I also get bored at the beach...and I live 10 minutes from the Jersey shore.

ps-Whoever went for a month...How the heck did you do that? Where did you stay. :earseek:

We did 4 trips since last June. 8 nights prior to a cruise at the end of June 2004. 6 nights for F+W in Oct 2004. 7 nights during spring break April 2005 and 7 nights celebrating our 20th anniversary in May 2005.

My wife was in a funk because we didn't think we'd get to go back until June/July 2006, but we've decided to squeeze in a 4 night trip in Oct.

Our shortest time between trips was 3 days (including a round trip to Ohio). About 5 years ago we returned home from a 9 night trip on a Thurs, dropped the kids off at Camp on Sunday and flew back for 5 more nights, adults only.

This past year was a little extreme for us, but we usually average a couple times a year.

AHHHH Now I know why I tell everyone I must have been American in another lofe LOL!

I guess I live on the wrong side of the border! Between July 2004 and July 2005, this will be our third trip. My DH keeps telling me we have to slow down....But he loves WDW a lot or else he wouldn't tag along everytime!

I wish I lived a couple of hours away....that we be so much easier than having to buy plane tickets or driving for 24+ hours. That way I could go more often and not feel I have to see it all everytime ¨IN CASE¨we don't get to come back next year.

My dream would be to buy into DVC.....

We went to Disney last October, 2004 for 9 days and 8 nites. It was great. I jam-packed the whole trip with rides, parks, restaurants (heavy-duty scheduling/priority seating) and we had the best time.

BUT we were tired and needed afternoon breaks - we ended up going to the hotel in the late afternoon, shower, hang out for a bit and then go to a Disney restaurant either in the park or at AKL or another hotel (Polynesian)
and had the best time eating.....

I guess there never is enough time to stay in the parks every nite...Anyway,
sometimes on the trip, even though it was October it was still a little hot during the day and I got tired and sometimes wished I was on a beach or somewhere just relaxing instead of walking and coordinating plans all day long (up and out at 8am, home very late, 10-11pm)..

MY 2 QUESTIONS ARE:
1. Does anyone ever feel like you wished you were on an all inclusive trip relaxing WHILE you are on a disney trip?

2. HOw often in between Disney trips?? (we planned a PA trip instead of disney this november) :hourglass

We just finished 12 days 9 at WDW. I always say that this is my kids vacation and it is for her to have a good time - so the fact that I am utterly worn out after this "vacation" is normal. MY kid on the otherhand had the vacation of a lifetime - fire dancing at the Spirit of Aloha, Henna Tattoos at Morocco, parasailing twice, soaring three times, fantasmic dinner package sitting in the front row, mission space a half dozen times, staying concierge with room service at the contemporary, philharmagic three times, 10 minutes on dads shoulders watching illuminations after dinner at the Rose and Crown, dolphin swims, snorkeling, beach time, pool time, wdw pins thru the wazoo, the hoop de doo revue, DisneyQuest, 10 times on Kraaken, Dolphin feeding, sea lion feeding, stingray feeding, shopping and more shopping, face painting, the Japanese candy lady, pearls and more pearls, etc etc etc.... and thats with every third day being a "day off".

so she had an over the top great time - I, however, am fried...hahahahahahahaha. If I had this trip to do over again I would plan just as diligently... BUT once at WDW I would not push myself so hard to make sure that everything was perfect for my daughter. I would back off, not fret about making sure my daughter got to do everything she wanted and more...and spend more time just soaking it all in... The last three days I got into that frame of mind and it was very pleasant and my daughter had just as good of a time if not better even though we did less.

As to how often? once a year
